I’ve been making an effort to venture out more in our new neighborhood and discovered this little commmunity garden just a few miles up the road. I had first heard about it from a friend (hi Trish!) when she mentioned it during a dinner party we hosted a few weeks ago and I just fell in love with the idea of a place where you could have a little plot of soil to nurture nature in the midst of our urban lifestyle! It was so nice to wander around the garden during dusk and see all the plants in bloom along with fruits ripening on the vine!
100+ degree temps are here to stay and it’s already been nothing short of hot and sweaty down here in Dallas! I love throwing on a lightweight dress as they’re the perfect piece to keep cool even when the humidity makes everything just stick to you. I noticed this Banana Republic wrap dress the instant the Fall new arrivals hit and couldn’t get it shipped to me fast enough! The blue floral print is just stunning and the wrap style is my favorite for creating a flattering, feminine silhouette (and it’s 30% off right now with code BREAK!). And while with most wrap dresses I have to safety pin together in the front to avoid any fashion mishaps, this one actually comes with a hook already to create a seamless look. For reference, I’m a C cup and didn’t find the top too tight at all!
I always love dresses that have a little bit of sleeves as I find that it makes it more work appropriate to add a little shoulder coverage. The soft fluttery open sleeve on this dress is just so pretty! There is a small section of the skirt in front that’s pleated and I just love how it adds a little extra movement to the look! And while it can be up to personal preference, I didn’t find that I needed to wear a slip with this dress as I had enough fabric overlap in the front to avoid any exposure in the case of a breeze (it really hasn’t been that windy though either now that we’re in the thick of summer). My only gripe would be for the skirt to come up just above the knee instead of below, but nonetheless it’s still an easy DIY job!

I can’t wait to wear this gorgeous piece through the Fall as the rich blue color would transition perfectly into the colder months! Banana Republic’s latest arrivals are hitting it out of the park and I’ve rounded up a few other pieces that caught my eye (may just need to pull the trigger on this dress and this one too!):
I hope you all are having a wonderful week and thanks so much for stopping by!

I love this dress the print is gorgeous and liking that it sorta has sleeves. But what is the material? I only wear cotton and linen in the summer and avoid polyster like plague lol!
I think for me I will still have to wear a cami under it…too busty for anything cute to work on its own 🙁

It is polyester but very lightweight! I love linen too but it tends to wrinkle easily whereas this dress is wrinkle free! 🙂

Beyond the emotional connection, the practical benefits of having a pet are manifold. Studies have shown that owning a pet can contribute to improved mental health, reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. The daily routines associated with pet care also instill a sense of responsibility and purpose, fostering a structured lifestyle. The act of caring for a living being, whether it’s feeding, grooming, or playing, imbues a sense of fulfillment and nurtures empathy, particularly in children.

The intrinsic connection between dogs and humans transcends cultural, geographical, and historical boundaries, illustrating the universal appeal of these remarkable animals. Whether frolicking in the backyard, curled up by the fireplace, or diligently performing tasks that range from herding livestock to providing assistance to individuals with disabilities, dogs continue to enrich our lives in ways both tangible and intangible. Their presence, marked by an unparalleled blend of resilience, joy, and empathy, underscores the enduring nature of a relationship that remains one of the most profound and cherished bonds in the tapestry of human existence.
