I think I might have overdone it with this necklace. The original plan was to find a small, dainty necklace to add to this outfit, but when I saw this necklace hanging next to it, I decided to put it on just for grins. And then, it ended being too pretty for me to take off (does that ever happen to you?)!
So even though this necklace is a bit too big and a bit too ornate on top of the lace, I decided to break some fashion rules and just go with it. The purse and shoes did stay a nice neutral color though to balance everything out. After all, gotta make sure the attention stays on the necklace, right?
Meanwhile, Adrian and I bought deck furniture this weekend!! I’m so excited. Maybe I will have to take another rooftop deck picture once our deck is constructed and furnished. 🙂

P.S. In case you missed it:
- Color Brigade Vol 15 – Vol 16 is coming up on Monday night (probably around 9-10pm)
- A teaser engagement picture of me and Adrian!
I like it! It is a little much maybe for some things, but I think the very neutral skirt works for you.
At first glance, the necklace does make a big statement. But the more I look at your outfit, the more I like it. All your items are dainty, lace top, pleated skirt, etc. so the necklace is a nice contrast. I like it!
The necklace is fab, dear! Loving the pairing of the lace and the pleated skirt. So dainty and feminine. I wore lace today, too! Though I wasn't quite as adorned. (I forgot to wear my big necklace. )
I hope you didn't take these photos by yourself. That tram looked awfully close!
If anyone can pull off that big of a necklace…it would be you Kileen!!! 😀
oh sweetie, i LOVE the colors of this outfit!! at first glance the necklace looks a little big, but i do think you pull it off well!!
I always go for the bold, and i love your touches of hot pink!
Oh my gosh Kileen that third to last picture is amazing. I think the necklace looks great–if it were really pink it probably would have been too much but the fact that it has a bit of orange in in keeps you from looking super matchy-matchy. Congrats on the new deck furniture! Perfect timing for it 🙂
It's never too much in my book. 🙂 Happy Easter!
LOve your outfit and this isn't too much =)
haha, no. I was able to get Adrian to help me out with pictures today.
thank goodness too cause that tram was kinda scary! 🙂
I really like the necklace on top. It's bold but really pretty.

I agree with what you said in that the neutralness of the skirt, shoes and bag helps with the toning down of the necklace.
p.s. I'm really loving the quality of these pictures!!
Great photos, Kileen! Your belt is so pretty <3
A fabulous outfit. The necklace works with your outfit.
thanks! i had Adrian's help in taking them. he's got a good eye! 🙂
i love the pop of pink among the neutrals in this outfit. soooo purty!!! 🙂
I love the soft colors of your outfit! And pleats and lace? It's so lovely and I don't think its too much at all.
Complex Cardigans
I don't think it's too much at all, you wore it well and it's a GORGEOUS necklace!

I adore that necklace and I think it actually goes quite well with the off white lace. The one thing that distracts the eye from the gorgeous shades of amber of the necklace is the hot pink underneath the lace. I think the colors are competing the pink is definitely winning. Still, it looks awesome either way.
I also dig those bangles. I have such a hard time finding ones that fit my tiny wrists and hands – I'm sure you can relate. Sometimes it ain't easy being cute and little.
i agree that the necklace and tank top colors were definitely competing. i
was so tempted to take off the necklace and go with something simpler and
smaller, but i just couldn't. 🙂
and most bangles/bracelets are big on me (this one can basically fit almost
up to my elbow!), but they were pretty cheap so i wear them anyways, lol.
Lovely look my dear!!!

Adrian took these pictures for me in the afternoon. And I just keep taking pictures even with people looking. I'll usually just wave hello if they're really staring and then they'll smile and keep in walking. 🙂
Kileen
Oh, but I normally take pictures with my tripod before work in the mornings. 🙂
