I live for snack time and there’s no doubt, my kids do too! Whether it’s 3:00 pm and I’m working in the office or I’m on mom duty with the kids, I always make sure that I’m prepared with healthy snacks. For me, I have two main priorities when it comes to finding good snacks: (1) have a good balance of protein and carbs to make sure that it satiates our hunger for hours and (2) have a clean ingredient list — either it’s an unprocessed whole food option or it has only ingredients that I can pronounce! Finding options that are nutritious and that my kids love can be a bit tricky, so I’m sharing my top 10 snack picks!
Currently at the top of our list are these delicious nutter puffs from popchips! Firstly, I can’t get over the fact that the ingredient list is only 3 ingredients — yes 3! It’s only peanut butter, yellow corn, and peanut flour. Super simple and just plain good!! I can sit and eat peanut butter all day and so can my kids, but that can be a bit dangerous for my waistline so I love these little air-filled crunchy snacks that give me the same kind of satisfaction.
It’s made with REAL peanut butter that is absolutely delicious and per serving, there are 5 grams of protein and only 130 calories. Each serving is a generous 27 pieces and at only 12 grams of net carbs per serving, I can even include these yummy snacks in my low-carb days for Faster Way to Fat Loss! Plus, it’s dairy free, vegan, and gluten-free.

made with only 3 simple ingredients!
These are the perfect snacks to take along and my kids have legit been requesting these for snack time every chance they get! There is even a chocolate peanut butter nutter puff option and for the boys in our home that are mini chocoholics, these have been a great alternative for them to get their sweet tooth fix. Delicious guilt-free snacks are hard-to-find, so we’ve been stocking up on these nutter puffs like they’re going out of style! You can find them at your local grocery store or on Amazon.
TOP 10 HEALTHY SNACKS ON-THE-GO
- popchips nutter puffs
So delicious and satisfies my craving for something “crunchy,” especially on FWTFL low-carb days - almond butter + apples/celery
Another easy and delicious option! Opt for a green apple if cutting down on sugar (you won’t even notice it with the almond butter!) or the celery for higher fiber. - cucumbers + protein-powered hummus
Hummus is another favorite of mine and I mix in a scoop of collagen peptides to boost the protein profile (1 scoop has 10 g of protein and you can’t even taste a difference with this unflavored kind!) - turkey jerky
Jerky is another favorite snack around for both me and the kids. It’s a great way to add in more protein for those days when I notice my kids may not be getting enough! - hard-boiled eggs
I throw a few into our steamer and set it for 13 minutes for the perfect hard-boiled egg every time. Top with a little Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel spice for a tasty treat! - mixed nuts
A great last-minute option that’s portable and packs a punch with healthy fats + protein. - greek yogurt + berries
This snack honestly feels like dessert! Greek yogurt is great for a low-sugar protein option and I top with low-carb fruits such as blueberries / strawberries! - canned tuna + avocado
Canned tuna mixed with about 1/3 of an avocado is a new low-carb snack that I discovered while on the Faster Way To Fat Loss program and it’s seriously so yummy! - roasted seaweed
Don’t knock this snack until you’ve tried it! Roasted seaweed reminds me of my childhood as I grew up eating packs of these from the Asian supermarket. I’m happy to see these more widely available now as it’s a snack option that’s high in fiber, essential vitamins, and packed with heart-healthy omega-3s! - edamame
Edamame is another favorite for my kids! These can be eaten roasted or just on their own and it couldn’t be any easier!
Let me know what your favorite healthy snacks on-the-go are and if you’ve tried the new popchips nutter puffs before!
