We had some more nasty rains earlier this weekend but fortunately everything cleared up by Sunday and it turned out to be an absolutely beautiful day!  I’m already in summer vacation mode (Dylan’s last day of school was last Wednesday) so when I saw this tropical print maxi dress, I was sold.  The palm leaf print is just perfect for casual and relaxing looks, and worn with a pair of comfy nude wedges, I was already in a beach-dreaming state of mind!  
Off the rack, this dress is still about 2″ too long for me (I’m 5′ tall and wearing 5″ wedges here).  I haven’t had a chance to alter the length yet but was too anxious to wear it already.  Luckily with this style of dress, it’s easy to tuck in the extra skirt fabric underneath the top at the elastic waistband.  It was a quick fix until that worked well enough in case any of you are anti-alterations.

I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of nude wedges for a few weeks now and finally have settled on this pair from Jessica Simpson.  You may remember that I had ordered the Steve Madden ‘Esme’ style a few weeks ago, but the leather straps ended up being a little big on my feet (there were noticeable gaps) and Adrian also mentioned that he personally preferred the espadrille style too (the man has serious taste in shoes, in case you’re wondering!).  When I stumbled across these espadrilles, it checked off everything I was looking for in a nude wedge (soft leather that conformed to my foot, nude leather that matched my skin tone reasonably well, and a tall espadrille wedge) and they are absolutely perfect!  I’ve linked a few different sites where it’s available since sizing is spotty but here they’re even 18% off!

How beautiful is this wooden watch??  My summertime outfits tend to be a bit more earthy and natural, so a wooden watch like this is perfect.  The watch is made with all-natural elements but has a definite modern design.  The rose gold color is stunning and I love the little window into the inside of the watch so that you can see the gears actually ticking away!   Another perk when ordering from JORD watches is that they offer free sizing before they ship it out — such a time and money saver since I could just put on the watch the instant it came in the mail!  To see more of their line of watches, check out the widget below:
