Can I just say how much I love this sequin top? I’ve actually never owned sequins before because I’ve never been brave enough to wear them. But, after seeing this lovely top at LOFT the other day, I couldn’t refuse! My new goal is to figure out how to wear this top in 3 ways (at least): to work, to a party, and out with friends. Last night, I succeeded in wearing it out to with friends — to a dinner double-date, no less!
Unfortunately the dinner double-date ended up falling short one person as the other boyfriend ended up having to work late, but it was still so much fun! It was actually a night for trying out new things as we ended up going to an Indian restaurant that the bf and I have never been to before. We had a little family style meal and I ended up sampling so much new Indian food that I would’ve never ordered on my own that was all incredibly delicious. I think the experience is comparable to when I take people to dim-sum and order all my favorite items off the carts for my friends to try. Now, it was my turn!
I hope you guys are having a great weekend! Remember that to-do list? Um, yeah, I still haven’t started packing yet. :

I saw that same top in store, but like you I've never bought any sequined items before, and had no clue about how to take care of something like that. Sequins sure do make for a good festive/party top though! 🙂
Yay for trying new things – I have a few dresses with shiny sequins but haven't attempted wearing sequin in a casual day to day outfit. I have to say you did it really successfully. I think the color of the sequin top is really subtle and perfect!
Killeen, you look fabulous! I love sequins tops, and I love the one you picked out. The leather jacket works really well with the top. (Sleeves look a bit long, otherwise I'd want one for myself, :)) Oh the boots are really cute. Love the whole outfit!!!
@PetiteXXS Caring for this top is going to be hand-wash only for me, although the label says you can put it in the washer on gentle. I wouldn't trust my washer with these sequins.
@Vicky The jacket sleeves are a bit long (1" – 1 1/2") and I'm taking it to my mom this weekend to see if she can tailor it at all… Good eye! 🙂
Your boots are so cute!!
Nice pairing! Your booties are a perfect match for that top! I will have to see if it is in store this week…although, I should resist. :p
Glad you guys had a fun dinner!
I love that top…sequins are perfect for this time of year!
This is a great take on a casual look with sequins. I usually associate sparkly and shiny sequins with dressier looks but you totally pulled this off.
I've tried Indian food one time and wasn't a big fan. Not sure if it was just a bad one time experience. Any recs for someone with more American taste? 🙂
You did sequins during the day perfectly! I have been wanting to try it too, so thanks for the inspiration.
@Cee if you're not vegetarian, I personally love the Chicken Tikka Masala. it's one of the most popular Indian dishes and i think a good "starter" item into Indian food. 🙂
i love your top! that color and the shiny-ness from the sequins adds a nice touch to your whole outfit!
i love Indian food!! haha. it's SO good. you should try Ethiopian food too! it's really awesome.

Love your sequin top, looks cute and cool on you!!
cute outfit kileen. i love sequins and your tank is festive without being loud.
uhhh..that top looks great on you. I don't own any sequined item either. I don't know how to take care of it nor how to style it. I might have to try it on the next time I am at the store to see how it look on me. Super cute outfit!
Lovely top 🙂
Happy Holidays!

The sequins are sooo gorgeous! I love this top…glad you were brave enough to buy it because it looks amazing on you! 🙂
I love sequins but don't think I could pull it off like you! You look super cute! And the boots are adorable!
@Vicky, I always agree with you. Sleeves of jacket are too long.
@Kileen: your mom can fix faux leather? Talented!
I like the time you took these pics w/the sun shining against the buildings in the background like that.
@AubreyOhDang! my mom says that faux leather is actually easier to fix cause the material is thinner. otherwise she's had needles bend and break cause it wasn't strong enough to go through real leather. hopefully she can fix! otherwise i'm gonna have to take it to a tailor.
and i think i got lucky with the sun. it's so hard to catch it when it's actually cooperating with my photos! 🙂
I'm a total sparkle addict, so I'm lovin' that top!
Beautiful sequined top. I really want a sequined skirt to wear on NYE.
Sounds like you had a fun, sort of double, date night 🙂 Indian food is one of my favorites.
