Happy Valentine’s Day!! The kids are also starting their Winter Break today so it’s doubly exciting for them as it truly does feel like a holiday! I surprised the kids this morning with some mini heart waffles with fresh strawberries and thought it would be fun to share some fun family Valentine’s Day traditions. I’m trying to be better about adding these into our routines and thought you might enjoy some of these ideas that are easy and that will make the day just a little extra special for everyone!
Valentine’s Day Traditions
Start With a Valentine’s Breakfast
I picked up this mini heart waffle maker and it was so much fun to have these for breakfast! Plus, if you’re looking for something on the sweeter side, put in one of these Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with icing and I promise it’ll taste just like a Cinnabun! Other ideas making pink pancakes (just add a little bit of beet puree to keep it healthy!) or even just heart-shaped eggs!
Make a Heart Paper Chain
I saw this 3-minute YouTube tutorial on creating a heart paper chain and it’s such a cute idea to do with your kids and get into the Valentine’s Day spirit!
Have a Mini Spa Moment
I’ve done this one so many times with my kids as they honestly just love joining in on everything that I do. Put on your robes (and/or a cute hair headband) and get to face masking (my kids love these sheet masks from Target)! While you’re waiting, you can even pamper each other with mini manicures / pedicures (I love the kid-friendly Piggy Paint nail polishes for my kids).
Twin In Matching Outfits
Mei loves twinning with me so as long as your kids love it, find a matching outfit to pair up in! Or, maybe even just have some fun letting your kids dress up in adult clothes and take some photos!
Write Them A Valentine
I heard this idea on a podcast and loved the idea! Write a note to your kids telling them why you appreciate them. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy but if your kids are like mine, I know that they will cherish these messages for years to come.

This is just so sweet! One of my best friends said that every year her daughter is her Valentine and that’s their tradition, so she celebrates Valentine’s day with her man the day after since the 14th is her daughter’s day. So so special and it’s something her daughter will remember! x
