You guys know that I’m all about incorporating more natural products into my life (paraben-free makeup, sulfate-free shampoo/conditioner, sustainable jewelry) so when I heard about a monthly beauty subscription box that provided samples of 100% cruelty-free vegan products, I knew I had to try it out. In the past, I’ve always wanted to swap out more of my beauty products to use those that are cruelty-free, organic, and natural, but finding those products and having them actually work for you is hard! I love the idea of being able to try these products in a sample size and not having to commit to a full-size bottle.
The VeganCuts beauty box is loaded with 4-7 items every month (approximately a $35 value). My Februrary beauty box was loaded with 6 items:
- Chandler Farm Mia’s Hand Creme in Cranberry & Mandarin
- Medusa’s Makeup Lipstick in Baroque
- Yarok Feed Your Do Styling Whip
- Molly Rose Mint Truffle Lip Balm
- Birthed by Earth Tea Light Soy Candle
- Greenbody Tea Tree & Rosemary Natural Deodorant
I’ve been testing these products for almost the last month so read on for my thoughts!
My favorite product! The consistency is actually similar to that of a gel yet it absorbs super quickly and doesn’t leave any sort of greasy slick residue behind. I literally just applied some to my hands and was instantly back to typing on the computer without having to worry about leaving any sort of film on the keyboard. The lotion is amazingly hydrating and has really helped my dry winter skin these past few weeks. The smell is faintly fruity but not overpowering. This hand creme is 100% palm oil free as the over-harvesting of palm oil in Indonesia has actually threatened the endangered Orangutan species there — an issue I wasn’t even aware of but am so glad to know!
Molly Rose Mint Truffle Lip Balm (buy)
Lip balm infused with chocolate? Sign me up! Lip balm is actually an item on my beauty list that I need to find a good natural alternative for. I’ve tried a few different in the past but just felt that they were either too waxy or too greasy. This one turned out to be a real winner! This lip balm is made of coconut oil, peppermint, essential oils, and lastly enrobed in a rich dark chocolate. The balm is smooth and light with a subtle chocolate taste. The peppermint gives it a slight tingly feeling and the balm is moisturizing without being heavy. I wasn’t sure what to think of it at first but after using it a few times, I grew to love it! The flavors are really unique and I chuckled when I even saw a Bacon flavor (bacon!!) and Pickles & Ice Cream flavor out there!
Medusa’s Makeup Lipstick in Baroque (buy)
I was a little intimidated by the dark red color of this lipstick but it turned out to be quite a flattering shade once applied. The packaging is super cute with the rose-shaped topper and I found the lipstick to provide a nice rosy stain even when the lipstick color wore off. The lipstick is made up of various plant waxes and left a nice shine that wasn’t sticky. I don’t normally line my lips and the lipstick had a tendency to bleed. Personally I felt like the lipstick was a little too waxy for me and required too much maintenance to keep in place, so I probably wouldn’t repurchase on my own.
Yarok Feed Your Do Styling Whip (buy)
This hair styling paste is made up of all-natural ingredients like shea butter and hemp seed oil, and scented with lemon peel and peppermint. I normally don’t use any styling paste on my hair but one muggy post-rain day, I did find myself with a super static situation on my hands. In the past, I’ve usually used some water to smooth my hair, but it does kill any sort of hairstyle I may have had going. I ended up smoothing just a tiny bit of this styling whip, and it really worked to keep my hair in place (instead of all over the place!).
Birthed by Earth Tea Light Soy Candle (buy)
These beautiful candles are made with 100% soy wax and I actually have been burning this one for almost 3 weeks now and still have almost half of it left! There’s a mild lemongrass scent that’s very relaxing and feels so clean and pure instead of heavy. I will definitely be adding a few of these to my bathroom for those days I need a good soak.
Greenbody Tea Tree & Rosemary Natural Deodorant (buy)
I’ve always used a natural deodorant due to the aluminum content in other deodorants being linked to breast cancer. In general, instead of using chemicals to kill underarm bacteria, natural deodorants uses plant extracts and essential oils to reduce the bacteria count. This Greenbody deodorant is made of cocoa seed butter, cornstarch, and coconut oil; it glides on smooth and dries instantly to a light powdery finish. While I did find that it work for those days that I stayed mostly indoors, I didn’t find that this deodorant was quite as effective as I needed it to be during my crossfit and yoga workouts where I really get my sweat going.
I really enjoyed my VeganCuts beauty box and particularly enjoyed the variety of items as they touched on all aspects of my daily life. Even though a few of the products didn’t work out for me this time, I really did discover a few gems out there that I absolutely love! Not to mention, it has also made me aware of new companies out there that support cruelty-free, organic, all-natural products and I will always stand by that.
Sign up for a VeganCuts beauty box and discover some amazing cruelty-free products for yourself!

Thanks for reviewing that Greenbody deodorant! Would you mind sharing which natural deodorant you've found that does work for you, especially on those sweaty workout days? I've tried a few, but I haven't found one yet that is really effective.

I love the Lavanilla Natural Deodorant (http://popsu.gr/rfgy)! I personally love the Lavender-Vanilla scent. Keep in mind that since this isn't an anti-antiperspirant, your body will take a week or so to get used to regulating its sweat. But just stick with it for a week and hopefully you'll notice a difference! Hope this helps! 🙂
