The kids just started virtual school yesterday and omg, to say that life just got a little bit busier would be an understatement. It’s been a day of juggling Zoom schedules for 2 different kids plus making sure I’m prepared for my own meetings and getting work done to hit project deadlines, then add on cooking and cleaning… is your head spinning yet? 😅
These days, it seems like we’re all figuring out new routines and maybe even taking on new roles. And if you’re like me, there have been more than a couple instances where you’ve realized at the end of the workday that you need to do a last minute run the store. Whether it’s missing a key ingredient for the dinner or realizing the kids are out of toothpaste (I even remember a time a couple years ago when I ran out of diapers!), I just get this sinking knowing that I need to take care of another errand when I’m ready to relax with the family already!
Thankfully, Walmart recently launched their Express delivery service where I can have everything from groceries to household essentials to over-the-counter pharmacy and personal care, all available for pickup or dropped off at my door in 2 hours or less! You guys, what a gamechanger!!
Walmart 2 Hour Express Delivery Service
Walmart’s Express delivery service launched in response to the global pandemic as a solution for those who had items that were needed urgently and did not want the risk of leaving their home.
In the last month, I’ve actually made use of Express delivery twice. The first instance, Dylan had a small rash breakout from what we currently suspect is a gluten allergy, and after checking with his pediatrician, we were told to just monitor at home and treat with Children’s Benadryl and hydrocortisone cream. We had the hydrocortisone but our Benadryl was long expired, and so you can imagine what a lifesaver it was to have it all delivered! I didn’t have to worry about taking my kids with me to pick up medicine but instead was able to relax at home and just enjoy some cartoons with Dylan to get his mind off his situation.
On a second occasion just last week, Dylan unexpectedly had a bloody nose. Before we even realized what was happening, we had drips of blood stained on shirts, towels, and even the carpet. 😆 We were completely out of detergent and definitely needed a good carpet cleaner too! Nosebleeds are never fun and they always get me a little shaken up, so I was so grateful that I could just put in an Express delivery order and chill at home.
Now that we have virtual school in session at home too, I have no doubt that there will likely be a last-minute school supplies delivery — fingers crossed that we have everything we need but somehow it seems like either our glue sticks are dried by the time we need to use them and/or the kids can’t find their marker set when Art class day calls for them!
Placing an Express delivery order is as easy as going to walmart.com/grocery or using the Walmart app. Just search by zip code to see if Express delivery is offered in your area. Walmart is rolling their Express delivery out to over 2000 stores in the following weeks, so definitely keep your eyes peeled!
Both times that I placed my Walmart Express delivery order, there was no shortage of delivery time slots. Walmart actually has a dedicated team of associates working especially just to fulfill Express delivery orders, speeding up the entire shopping and delivery process! Express delivery is available from 8am to 8pm every day, and items ship from my actual local Walmart store. It’s the same everyday low prices that I expect from Walmart, with no product markup and prices are the same as I would have paid anyways in store! Plus, the delivery itself was contact free and safely dropped off at my front doorstep.
Life is definitely busy enough as-is these days as we’re all trying to navigate a new normal. New schedules, new responsibilities — it can be a lot to juggle so I love that thanks to Walmart Express delivery, a trip to the store for last-minute urgent needs is one less todo on my checklist! Instead, I can spend that time having fun with my kids — going on bike rides, riding in our front yard swing saucer, or just playing Zombie Kidz (one of my kids’ favorite board games!). It’s been a summer of adjusting to new normals, and thank goodness Walmart Express delivery is here to help with last-minute urgent necessities!
pin for later!
