The Weekend Edit [05.22.2016]

I’m starting a new series every weekend where I can share my latest updates with you all. So much happens behind the scenes here and oftentimes I don’t get a chance to share it on the blog, so I figured this would be a nice way to catch up with everyone! It’ll contain a few favorites, some notable sales, as well as new products that I might be trying out at the moment. I hope you enjoy and let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see!

Closet Crush:

pink maxi skirt (left, middle – similar, center)

I wanted to start off with a closet crush where I feature an item in my closet that either I have multiples of or have worn multiple times — it’s a surefire way to know that it’s a top pick! I have a love affair with anything pink and the pink maxi skirt style is one of my faves (I actually own three different ones!). These are a great option to wear in the springtime as many of them are made with light chiffon fabric and the pastel pink color is just so flirty and feminine. New In My Closet / Makeup Drawer:

DermaFlash – I picked up this little facial exfoliator device and tried it out for the first time this morning. I didn’t think I had a of peach fuzz on my face but I couldn’t believe how smooth my skin felt afterwards and my foundation went on like a dream! I’m waiting a week or so to see how the regrowth situation is and will keep you posted!

Crocs Rain Boots (more colors here): We’ve had quite the rainstorms this spring (it’s supposed to rain all this week!) and I picked up a pair of new rain boots for both myself and Kennedy (seriously how cute are these mini pink rain boots?). If you’re petite and have had trouble finding rain boots that don’t look like you’re wearing giant buckets on your feet, these have a low shaft and I pair them with these inserts for a perfect fit plus a little added height!

Life Updates:

I’m currently putting the finishing touches on furnishing our living room (our new couch arrived this past week)! I still need to sell our old couch (I’ve been using the 5 miles app and it’s been so much nicer than Craigslist — not sponsored, but just opinion!) and style the bookshelves. I’m super happy with the way it’s turned out (I highly recommend Havenly if you guys want interior design help — use CUTE20 for 20% off the full design package) and can’t wait to show you all soon!

I’m also working behind the scenes to move my blog from Blogger to a self-hosted WordPress domain. It’s been something I’ve been thinking about doing for awhile now and I’ve finally come to a point where I’m just tired of the Blogger limitations and am taking the plunge! GRIT: I have an Audible subscription and am currently listening to this audiobook. I don’t want to spoil anything if you haven’t read it yet but I’ve found the discussion behind the talent vs. hard work super interesting.

Pe-TISH-ion: I stumbled across this read and absolutely love how this mama is teaching her daughter about societal pressures in beauty. I need to remember this for when my own daughter may run into these same issues.
