To contrast yesterday’s pastels, I went bold and graphic in windowpane print and red pants. These days, if it’s not floral print, it’s probably windowpane print that I’m wearing. I’m on a trend kick and it can’t be helped! I may have just added this windowpane skirt to my collection too (30% off right now if you spend >$150 or if you’re a cardholder with code BRAPRIL30!)…
Funny story about this trench… I bought this trench several years ago and love it because it’s actually quite form-fitting when buttoned up. The beige contrast piping adds a nice detail even dresses it up a little bit. Well, I wore this jacket buttoned up to a fancy show awhile ago with my dress underneath and got so many compliments from people saying they loved my outfit, thinking my coat was the actual outfit! I’m guessing it looked like a shirt dress? Obviously I was flattered but I was stuck thinking, should I not take off this coat then? Maybe this coat looks better than the actual dress that I’m wearing underneath? It was a situation! I ended up keeping the jacket on as my outfit for the first half of the show and then took it for just my dress during the second half of the show. It would just be a two-outfit kind of night. 🙂

Gorgeous look! Love red pants. I wonder how you manage to get a beautiful location behind you in your photos with no people walking around there – OK, I can see one person in the back but this doesn't count :P). I can imagine that I would feel embarrassed shooting photos all on my own with a tripod in a public street or something. 🙂

I took these pictures in a shopping center early in the morning so there weren't that many people there yet (there is a Starbucks there so it's probably busier than other shopping areas). For me I figure it's just unavoidable to avoid everyone completely if I want to take pictures in a public place. I've just gotten over the embarrassment factor and take pictures even with people watching. Sometimes people will ask what I'm taking pictures for but for the most part people just go about their own business. It's not so bad. 🙂

Hi Keithya! I'm wearing a size Small and am 5' tall, 108 lbs. I actually found the Small to still be a bit big on me and ended up doing shortening the sleeves and overall length of the coat just a little bit. The coat isn't super thick and the alterations were simple enough that I was able to do it on my own. I think the coat would have still be great without the alterations but I just wanted to let you know in case. Also, I highly recommend ironing this coat when you get it first thing. SheInside items tend to arrive a bit wrinkled and a good ironing totally changes the way things look when you try them on. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂
