Ever since I left my corporate job, I deliberately went much more casual in my everyday dressing. It was a nice relief to be able to wear flowy skirts, t-shirts, and even just have my hair in a ponytail all day long! Still, I was starting to really miss the empowering feeling of putting on a good pencil skirt and heels. So today, I decided I would dress up just a little bit nicer, even if it was just for the first half of the day when Dylan and I would be at the library and indoors working on puzzles and games.
I love how the black and white windowpane print offsets the vibrant green of the pencil skirt. Dressing it down just a bit with a denim jacket, I actually really loveed how this outfit came together. While my corporate days are behind me for now, wearing something nice and tailored still does have a making me feel better about myself. And for that, I guess I’ll still be back at it with the pencil skirts. 🙂

Glad that you are getting wear out of your pencil skirts even though you aren't working! Hopefully I'll still be able to dress up a bit while I'm on maternity leave 🙂

Love the windowpane and the skirt! I am hearing rave reviews on J. Crew's No. 2 pencil skirt. Is it the cut that makes it popular?

Yes, the cut is very classic and flattering! It has the perfect amount of stretch and structure to it so that weird bulges don't show — well worth the investment in my opinion! 🙂
I love your top, its a bit like gingham and the dark green in it is a happy medium between the white and black. (perfectly coutured)
