I’ve been in major spring cleaning mode and finally tackled one of the major sore spots in our home right now: the fridge. For the past few months, we’ve gotten into the bad habit of just putting things into the fridge wherever they would fit (Adrian even compared it to a game of Tetris! 😆). It was difficult to take inventory of items that were left in the fridge, and on more than one occasion, I discovered a bowl of leftovers pushed to the very far back, completely neglected, and legit had fuzz that had started to grow… 🤮. Luckily I discovered some amazing Walmart fridge organization products and tips that I’m going to share with you today!
I finally decided a couple weekends ago that it was time to get our fridge organized. It was time to transform our disaster of a fridge that was seemingly always overflowing into one that was running at the optimal 3/4 full capacity. Luckily, I was able to get everything that I needed from Walmart and took advantage of the Walmart Online Delivery and Pickup to not only stock up on groceries, but also pick up fridge organization supplies! Read on for my top 5 must-have fridge organization items available from Walmart!
Walmart Fridge Organization
Our Starting Point: An Overfilled, Chaotic Fridge
First, here’s a peek at where we started. I was actually getting anxiety every time that I opened my fridge. All I could see was chaos and not only could I not find anything in my fridge, but I would end up forgetting what I even had! Food would end up going bad, money was getting wasted, and ultimately, I was setting a poor example for my kids.
And so, after taking everything out of the fridge, giving all the shelves a good disinfectant wipe-down, I started on my fridge organization mission. I needed to put in our weekly grocery order anyways from Walmart Online Pickup and Delivery and actually ended up being pleasantly surprised that I could also pick up some fridge organization supplies at the same time!
FOOD ORGANIZATION TIP #1: CLEAR FOOD STORAGE CONTAINERS
clear food storage containers for visibility and stacking
Our fridge started with a mashup of takeout containers, plates and bowls with plastic wrap, and random other foods all in their original packaging. I noticed that these were usually the foods that were left to spoil and would eventually get tossed out completely untouched. Step one was therefore to pick up clear food storage containers that I could put these foods into instead. The food in these containers would then always be visible and instead of a flimsy plastic wrap on top, there would now be lids that would allow for space-saving stacking!

FOOD ORGANIZATION TIP #2: TALL CONTAINERS FOR SMALL ITEMS ON FRIDGE DOOR

Two items that always seem to overrun our fridge include single-serve yogurts and applesauces. My kids have one of each nearly every day so I prefer to keep them low enough so that they are able to self serve. Almost by accident, I realized that these tall canisters actually fit perfectly into the fridge door shelves. I was able to segregate and organize all of our yogurts (it seems like every person has their preferred yogurt flavor and it changes constantly!), plus my kids are able to see and access what they need super easily!

FOOD ORGANIZATION TIP #3: DRAWER ORGANIZERS FOR PREPPED FRUIT/VEGGIES
Ok, so before my fridge organization escapade, I never believed in pre-washing fruit or prepping my vegetables — I just figured it would make them spoil faster. But I decided that in the process of organizing my fridge, I’d try out pre-washing all my berries (using a 1-part vinegar, 2-part water wash) as well as chopping up all my veggies to then store into food storage containers.
Now that I’m on week 2 of this process, I absolutely LOVE it. Our berries actually spoil LESS now and seeing my fruits in these clear fridge bins has encouraged my kids to snack better as well! I actually especially love having a container for our avocados now as we don’t have multiple open avocados open at a time and they don’t get lost in our fridge anymore either!

FOOD ORGANIZATION TIP #4: LAZY SUSAN FOR SAUCES
I seriously debated adding this lazy Susan turntable to my Walmart Online Grocery and Delivery order but after tossing out some old sauces that we just never used, I ended up having enough space in our fridge door. But, I will say that we love our sauces (and I love my salad dressings!) so I’m pretty sure that it’s just a matter of time before I end up adding this lazy Susan turntable to my fridge for some organization!
FOOD ORGANIZATION TIP #5: SHELF LINER FOR MEATS
The worst part of cleaning my fridge is always the bottom pull-out drawer where we store our meats. Without fail, it seems like there is always some sort of stain that requires quite a bit of elbow grease to remove. I noticed these shelf liners at Walmart Online Pickup and Delivery and it was an “Add To Cart” moment! Super easy to use and it makes clean-up so easy. I literally can now just toss and replace with a new liner instead of dealing with gross spills!
I’ve been so happy with the new fridge organization and best part is, we’ve been able to keep it clean and organized for the past 2 weeks now without any issues! I love that we’ve finally found a system that works for us and it couldn’t have been easier with Walmart Online Pickup and Delivery! Prices are the same Walmart Every Day Low Prices as in store with no hidden fees or markups — pickup is FREE while for delivery there is a small fee and $35 minimum order applies. I’m even able to select my preferred substitutions for items that may not be available. The Walmart Online Pickup and Delivery service is truly such a convenience and I love that I can get everything I need to for around the house beyond just groceries too!

Looks nice but my Walmart never has the containers that are shown.
I do my Walmart order through the app and usually there’s a pretty good selection! Hope that helps!
