It’s no secret that I love pink but wearing a monochromatic outfit can actually be a great tip for looking stylish when you don’t know how to pair a certain wardrobe piece! Even better, it’s a great tip for petites wanting to look taller!
While wearing all the same color can definitely be an easy way out when it comes to styling an outfit, there are a few pitfalls to avoid. I’m sharing my top 3 tips below!
Mix textures
To add some visual depth and dimension to your monochromatic outfit, pair pieces made with different fabrics so that you’ll create some visual interest. In this case, I mixed a lightweight wool with velvet to create a look that exuded comfort and softness yet each piece was different enough to stand out on its own!
Pair different hues
Avoid being too matchy-matchy and pairing pieces of the exact same shade. Instead, I’ll pair pieces that have subtle hue variances yet still belong to the same color family. The result is a monochromatic outfit that’s classy and coordinated!
Play with accessories
Take advantage of accessories as a chance to add in a pop of color! I personally love statement earrings and opt for pieces that really stand out against the monochromatic colors. And of course, a bouquet of fresh flowers always helps too!
