I stumbled across this shirt yesterday at Forever 21 and couldn’t say no. I’m loving the olive green color and find that the shade is perfect for transitioning into Fall. The military-esque shirt has an edgier vibe to it, so I balanced it out with a feminine skirt in creamy lace. I’m all about mixing the hard and the soft styles this season.
On a different note, our washing machine broke yesterday. The water wouldn’t drain and Adrian ended up guzzling a bit of soapy water trying to unclog it {slightly gross}. When you have a toddler who loves to get muddy and has a basket full of dirty cloth diapers, this was pretty much a crisis in our house. After calling around and being told that our obscure Fisker & Paykel washing machine would require special parts shipped from Australia, Adrian and I even considered just buying a new washing machine for a bit {we actually are not big fans of our washing machine as it has ruined a few of our clothes with weird white stains}. Well, I was finally able to locate a Fisker & Paykel service provider who had parts on hand and had availability first thing Monday morning. After mentally preparing myself for news that we’d need to replace our washer, I end up being told that there was a rogue washcloth stuck in one of the pipes. Face palm. The technician merely pulled it out, charged me $90, and went on his way. It was a moment of both relief and embarrassment. But at least now we can get back to cleaning those dirty diapers…

Well I'm glad there wasn't anything more serious wrong with your washing machine! They're expensive little things. I love the tight color story in this outfit. Very clean. And there goes the editor voice- you can definitely tell it's NYFW, haha. Anyway, I like it, and I can't believe the blouse and skirt are F21!
Lovely combination here with the shirt and the lacy skirt. Charming handbag and nice pumps. Your hairstyle and smile remain as beautiful as ever. Classic Kileen charm.

Beautiful outfit combo. I would not have thought to pair those two colors together, but the pattern in the skirt makes it work.
army green is my absolute fave for fall. i'm esp love this top paired with that lace skirt. fun!
Your outfit rocks, I love the olive green and cream together. Fantastic. (we are cloth diapering too!) So glad your washing machine is fixed!
It's tough transitioning to Fall clothing when it's 97 degrees where we live!

oh yes, it's hot here in Texas too! it's finally cooling off a little in the early mornings but I'll probably still be wearing "summer-ish" clothes through October. 🙂
OMGoodness what is it with washing machines these days? Ours broke a few weeks back–it was toast and we had to buy a new one–and my mother in law's just broke too! Luckily you got it fixed for cheap! I really love the lace and army green!
Love the outfit, Kileen! It has such a romantic feel to it. =)
I voted for you on the Nordstrom YOUphoria Fashion Face-Off! Good luck!
thank you so much, Candice!! i really appreciate it! <3
I love the soft neutral shades of this outfit! That lace skirt is so beautiful!
thanks Kristina! 🙂
You make Forever 21 look super high end! Love the contrast between edgier military shirt and feminine delicate skirt, I've been looking for a lace skirt and still nothing, so chic and fun!

Such a perfect combo….who would have though lace and army green were such a great pair!
I love this combo – it's something I've had on my to-wear list forever, but never had the right skirt. I think i may have to just knot my button down over my lace dress!
glad the washing machine was able to be fixed, problems with appliances are never fun to deal with.
This combination is so chic and classy. Looks much more high end than F21!! Loving the olive color for fall too. Thanks for sharing your look with Three-fer Thursday!
xoxo Meghan
This Outfit is awesome and fits you very well. The details are great – especially the beautiful belt.
In Munich will soon open a Forever21 and I can not wait 🙂 Have a nice day, Conny
