Now that it’s actually November, I decided to take the rest of my wool skirts out of storage. I couldn’t be happier to break out these colorful J. Crew skirts again and my head is already swirling with different outfit ideas! But first, a simple navy, silver, and mustard combo — one of my favorites!
I’m also trying out the idea of draping a blazer over an outfit after seeing it on Jean and Anh. I’ve realized it’s quite convenient when the weather is in this awkward in-between phase where it doesn’t know if it’s hot or cold. Leave it to me to make Fall weather sound like it’s going through puberty… 🙂
And, these pictures are my first attempt with my new Canon 5D Mark II {with my old 50mm lens if you’re wondering}! I’ve been wanting a new camera for awhile now and had started saving up in March in the hopes that the new Canon 5D Mark III model would be released later this year or early next year. But after seeing continuous delays and pushbacks in the date, I decided to finally give in and buy the Mark II… And can I say, I couldn’t be happier! What do you guys think?

I was using the Canon Rebel XSi before. After a good 5 years of use, it's time to upgrade. 🙂
Love! Both your outfit and the pictures taken by your new camera!
I love your outfits. So classy!
i adore the mustard skirt paired with the polka dot navy shirt! you look gorgeous as always!
Congrats on the new cam!! : ) Loving the pics.
thanks Jessy!
I need some wool in my life! I'm on that university student to grown up phase so I definitely need to add some wool skirts if I want to have a sophisticated closet, adore the combo!

yes, wool skirts are great investment pieces!
I love love this outfit your photos look amazing with you new camera congrats girly 🙂
Love the mustard pencil skirt – and now I totally have camera envy!
but honestly, considering the mishaps I've had with the tripod, I think I'd be too terrified to run around town with such an expensive camera – of course that is a silly reason, just like how when I would travel with my camera I'd keep it in my padded bag so it would be safe – but a camera safe in a bag isn't taking any photos.
So anyway, enjoy the new camera, happy clicking!
I was kinda paranoid when I was walking around with such an expensive camera too and was carrying it like a baby, lol. fortunately my tripod is pretty study and the 50mm lens isn't very heavy. so far so good!
Lol! at your puberty comment!
Your shots came out great! I always love seeing this top on you!!
Your new camera rocks girl! That's been on my list for a long while too. The irony is that I bet if I spent less money on clothes and saved up for a camera, I bet I could do it. 🙂 Navy and mustard are a great combo! And LOL at your weather going through puberty comment!
Congrats on the new camera! The photos are fabulous and I'm with you on with wool skirts. Love the vibrant color and the warmth it gives. =)
I've just found your blog and I must say I love it! You have great style! I'm following you, now! 🙂

Love that polka-dotted shirt! I have a tunic very similar to the one you have on. Great pairing with the J.Crew skirt. Very nice!

Love mustard and navy! These turns out great, but don't your oils always turn out great ? 🙂
My oils?
Kileen
Aw Kileen, you're making my heart ache! I just bought a nice black wool skirt like this from J Crew, and if I had of seen it in mustard I would have bought it! My closet is lacking mustard 😉 Funny as that sounds. I'm in love with these wool skirts though! They are so comfortable and I've been looking for a structured skirt for a while and was so happy when I stumbled on this one! They are perfect! You've styled it perfectly. I love this outfit. I like the draped blazer! You should do it more often! I'm so jealous of your warm weather! It's freezing cold where I live–I need like oodles of layers and winter jackets already!

thank you so much Ivonne!
I love that skirt! And yay for the the new camera! Your pics are awesome!
What a pretty belt! It adds such character to your outfit – I love how you make pencil skirts look fun, instead of just business casual.
Those colors on you are muted, but oh-so-pretty!! Looks like you've got yourself a great camera!! 🙂
I love your top! And I noticed the picture quality right away, they look great! Especially the last one.
thank you so much!! i agree that the picture quality is a huge difference — i basically doubled up in megapixels. 🙂
November is the official beginning to all things fall and winter. Yay for wool, knee-high boots, scarves, and ear muffs. I'm excited to switch over my closets!

I love the look of draping a blazer! For some reason it never seems to work on me (I just look weird), but I love seeing it on other people. Ugh, really jealous of your Mark II! It's such an awesome camera. I can definitely see the difference the full frame makes, although I think your photos have always looked great!
I love the mixture of colours in this post – The yellow ochre skirt, navy blouse and cream jacket look fabulous together
Very nice
