The last time I wore this shirt, I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. Aubrey correctly pointed out that the shirt aged me 7 years. I was actually on the verge of selling this shirt but I decided to give it one more go before giving up on it. I decided to change it up a bit in my remix today:
- Moved the waist sash so that it wrapped around the front instead of just staying in the back.
I think wrapping the sash around one more time so that the bow ended up in the front gave it a more fun and playful look.
- Rolled up the sleeves to a 3/4 arm length.
The shirt came with sparkly cuff links that, while really nice, do end up making the shirt a little more stiff and formal than I’d like. Instead, I rolled up the sleeves (and hid the diamond cuff links) and made it into a more casual-looking top.
I actually really like how the shirt looked with these few changes and hopefully it made it look less old. The white pants give the outfit a summery vibe while the turquoise necklace and bracelet give it a little more color pop and make this look a Color Brigade candidate!

I think tying the belt on the front made a world of difference, indeed! The bow seems to cinch the waist better and you know, having a bow visible on your clothing is very youthful. 🙂 So I agree, I like this variation better.

I went back and read my comment; I should've made suggestions. and the 2 suggestions I would've made are the exact solutions that you applied here (noted in your bullet points). I almost didn't recognize the shirt. To echo hurricanekellie, tying the bow in the front not only makes this shirt more youthful, but it cinches your waist, making it less boxy than it appeared last time. Furthermore, I am always a fan when you keep your outfits clean & simple (kileen style of course) and you've done a great job here with the bold turquoise jewelry (to keep w/the color brigade requirements) but kept it sleek w/skinny white jeans. I'd definitely say second time around is much better. Sry if I made you feel you should've gotten rid of it; certainly not my intention. Bravo my dear!
