Happy Tuesday and I hope you all had a wonderful relaxing weekend (and Labor Day holiday for my US readers!). Work has been keeping me extra busy the past couple of weeks so the break was much needed. Adrian and I had our first date night in a long, long time as we finally found ourselves a babysitter. We had previously taken advantage of the fact that my parents live within 30 minutes of us and were willing to help out with the kids once in awhile, but they’ve been traveling lots lately and we’ve always felt a little bad keeping my parents up so late at night anyways. So I finally bit the bullet and posted an ad on Sittercity. I’m so glad I did as we found an amazing sitter that both kids instantly took to. Adrian and I didn’t even have a chance to plan our date night beforehand but we ended up trying out a new Thai restaurant for dinner (you have to try their mussels appetizer!) and watched Sausage Party at the theater. It was raunchy humor for sure but having a few hours for just ourselves was just what we both needed! We did peek in on the kids while we were out (we installed a Canary home security system) and it was so nice to see the kids eating, playing, and having fun — is it weird though that I started missing my little ones though by the time the night was over?
Meanwhile is this blue striped shirt not a total dream? A Peter Pan collar, ruffled sleeves, and stripes, this blouse is checking all my favorite boxes in one fell swoop! And, wait for it… it’s only $13! I mean, seriously. This shirt needs to be in your closet already! I dressed it up while keeping it casual in these new blue suede heels and white skinny jeans (that you better believe I’ll be wearing right into the winter season!).
For a few similar tops (how cute is this one with all the ruffles!):
Single strap heels have been a popular style for years now, and while the Steve Madden ‘Stecy’ heels are one of my favorites, the thin stiletto heel unfortunately makes them shoes that I can only wear for about an hour or so before my feet start complaining. Thank goodness they came out with a chunkier heel option! I love these heels and the powder blue suede is the perfect mix of retro vintage and modern glam. I pair mine with these foot cushions and I ran errands for a good 3 hours the other day without any issues!

Love the sleeve detail on this top!
What a cute top! I love the collar and ruffles on the sleeves–such fun details that make it unique. Yay for a date night!! We are having one this Friday as well, and I’m really looking forward to it! I always end up missing my kiddo by the end of the night too though 🙂
The light blue color is great for shoes.

$13?!? Yes please!!! That shirt is absolutely gorgeous! I will always go for stripes and I think Peter Pan colors are so girly and chic, so I’ll definitely be getting this top for myself. Steve Madden is such a classic for finding cute heels! I have a pair of booties by him and there a total staple in my wardrobe. Thanks for hosting the link-up 🙂 !
