Is there anything more quintessentially summer than a pretty sundress? Today marked the official start of summer and these days, I find myself gravitating towards dresses now whenever the weather get warmer. Nothing beats their ladylike appeal and the fact that I don’t have anything sticking to my skin when the humidity becomes unbearable has been a reason in itself to choose lightweight flowy dresses over anything else! ModCloth has always had the cutest selection of summer outfits and so it was an obvious choice when I was looking for something with a fun print to wear for the picnics, holidays, and outdoor parties we have coming up. I fell in love with the print of this dress with its painted produce (Dylan loved pointing out all the different vegetables to me!) and the fit-n-flare silhouette is so figure flattering! The dress is such a classic with its lapels, side-seam pockets, and waistline pleats that really enhanced the hourglass figure look!
For fellow petites, ModCloth also offers extended sizing from XS to 4X with their sizing running on the smaller side. While I’m normally between an XS and S, I sized up to a S here as I didn’t want to have to worry about the front buttons being stretched open (and it gave me the freedom to indulge in a pie if I wanted to too! 😉 The dress does come slightly below my knees and while the general rule of thumb for petites is to hem to the knees, I actually don’t mind the longer hemline as long if I pair it with the right set of heels to still give some added height. These sandals are so fun with its bright chartreuse straps and the cork heel keeps the look casual and low-key (I would recommend adding a set of foot cushions as there’s not much padding in the front).
I love this basketweave-inspired bag! It comes with a long, adjustable strap so that it can be worn crossbody but it’s also perfect the straps removed and carried as a clutch! I just love the soft tawny color and the three interior pockets make it so much roomier than it looks!

A few other summer dresses I’m loving include this flamingo shirt dress (it’s flamingos, y’all!), this poppy-printed dress, this yellow rose sundress (I think I’m gonna pull the trigger on it!). ModCloth even offers home decor. I picked up these gold floating butterflies to decorate Kennedy’s wall and I just stumbled across the most adorable measuring spoon set in the shape of a flower pot along with this white ceramic pineapple container! How cute would those look on the kitchen counter? Need.
Snapchat and Instagram followers may also have seen already that I had my hair lightened this past weekend and it’s been just the change I needed! I feel like my entire face is brightened up and it’s amazing how a new haircut can make you feel like a new woman! If you live in the Dallas area and need an amazing hair stylist, feel free to email me for details.

I LOVE this summer dress. I really love the flamingo dress too…but way out of my budget. I’d spend that much on a dress for a wedding, but not for a casual dress.
How cute and whimsical is that dress?! I can’t get enough dresses this time of year–they’re just so comfortable–and I love finding ones in unique colors and prints. This is such a fun one!
Cute dress! looks perfect on you!
