I was recently tagged by Stephanie of Beauty & Gardens for a 2010 Beauty Favorites tag! I love these kinds of posts and have definitely acquired some new favorite beauty products in 2010 that I want to share with everyone!
Questions:
1-Which lipstick/ lipgloss did you use most often in 2010?
I wear my MAC Viva Glam VI lipglass almost every day. The mauve color adds some much-needed color to my lips and works well with my skin tone too. Unfortunately, it’s limited edition but I still have at least half the tube left. Hopefully I’ll find a replacement color once this tube runs out!
2-What was your favorite eyeshadow this year?
My favorite eyeshadow is and has always been MAC Satin Taupe. It’s such a beautiful color both on the lid and in the crease. I’m on my third

3-What product for the complexion (foundation, blush, etc.,) did you use the most?
Foundation:
My all-time favorite is Stila Illuminating Powder. My shade is 30 Watts in the winter and 40 Watts in the summer. This powder is super sheer but has the perfect amount of coverage to even out my skin tone. It’s also buildable so on those days when my skin really needs some help, I can layer it on and not worry about cakiness.
Blush:
I always reach for my MAC By Candlelight Mineralized Skinfinish. I love the subtle sheen and the slightly rose glow it gives my cheeks.
4-Your favorite nail polish color of 2010?
I really loved the MAC Formidable nail polish that was released in the Venomous Villains collection. The color is really unlike anything I own as it has a plummy teal duochrome finish to it.
5-Which skin care product would you not give up under any circumstances?
I absolutely cannot live without my Clarisonic Mia. I’ve only had my Mia since this past October but I’ve already seen a huge difference in my skin and cannot imagine going without it now!
6-What is your favorite personal care product?
Strangely enough, I love my MAC Fix+. I have super dry skin and this product is the perfect solution to help add moisture whenever I need it. It’s especially great when my skin feels tight but I don’t want to put on moisturizer as I already have a full face of makeup on. I’m on my second bottle of this product already.
7-Your usually worn fragrance in 2010?
My go-to perfume is the Betsey Johnson Eau de Parfum. It’s perfect for everyday wear as it’s light, fresh, and sweet. The bottle is crazy, but the scent is perfectly subtle.
8-What was your personal favorite jewelry piece?
I really love a little pearl statement necklace that I picked up at the Charlotte Russe outlet for $7.50 on Black Friday last year. I would’ve worn it with every outfit if I could.
9-What have you discovered in 2010 that is new for you (new products, inspirations, blogs, hobbies, etc.,)?
I only started my blog in late September of last year, so blogging is definitely new for me. I also never tried My Beauty Diary sheet masks or BB creams before this past year and now they are on my favorites list!
10-Do you have resolutions for 2011? If so, what are they?

kileen i am intrigued by the clarisonic mia. what does it do exactly? is it pretty much an exfoliant? thanks!
kileen says
@Ping For me the Clarisonic Mia is like a cleaner + exfoliant. It gets off all of my makeup as well as removes flaky skin that I have around my nose. My skin feels suuuper soft afterwards and I've noticed that my skincare products work better too! Definitely a worthwhile investment! 🙂

Yay, I'm glad you did the tag! I agree with you on Satin Taupe, it is such a pretty color. The rest I have not tried but I'm curious about them. Thanks for doing the tag!

The Stila powder sounds like something I would be interested in trying! Thanks for sharing!
@Ping The Clarisonic Mia is amazing! I was given a complimentary microdermabrasion at a dermatoligist office over the summer. When the lady was done, she was shocked at how little dead skin came off. That is a perfect example of the results. 🙂
My routine is to use it at night after I take off my eye makeup. I gently rub my cleanser in my face, let it sit for about 30-60 seconds, then use the Mia all over for about one minute. I also use toning pads after, because some spots (esp. close to my hairline where I do not use the brush as much) have trace amounts of makeuup left.
And…anyone interested in ordering one, should try skinstore.com. They frequently offer 15-20% off sales…at least once or twice a month. Free shipping with any order over $49. Chloe has skinstore.com updates on her daily list of deal.
