Anybody else wish that Zoom video meetings had a way to add a face filter sometimes? 😆🙋♀️ In general even before quarantine, I’m pretty light when it comes to makeup, but these days, it’s been all about the no makeup look since it’s really all about staying home right now I don’t want to spend a lot of time on my makeup, so I’ve streamlined the products that I use to
get myself looking presentable. The entire process takes under 10 minutes (usually around 6-7 minutes!), and it all comes down to 6 products — most of which are actually skincare that works double duty since you guys know that’s my jam! If you’re looking to pare down your morning makeup routine yet still want to look ready to get on camera, be sure to read on for my tutorial below.

Easy No Makeup Look
Sunscreen First

Ok, skin first! I’ve learned that I need a structure morning routine in order to be in the right mindset when it comes to working from home, so be sure to check out my morning skincare routine in case you missed that post. The last step in my morning skincare overlaps as the first step when it comes to my no makeup look, and that is sunscreen!
TULA launched their Protect + Glow SPF 30 sunscreen a few months ago and I have been hooked. I haven’t found a better product that protects from both UV rays as well as blue light that you get from technology screens. So while I’m not outside very much these days, I am certainly sitting in front of a computer / phone for 8+ hours a day. I was shocked to learn that blue light actually penetrates deeper into the skin than UV rays, which ends up causing hyper-pigmentation, age spots, and fine lines. The TULA sunscreen doesn’t smell like sunblock and it leaves the most gorgeous glow — I focus the product mostly on my nose and cheekbones and I honestly feel like it makes my face look fresh and youthful!
Blur Imperfections With Primer

I was using a different face primer at the beginning of quarantine, but recently ordered the TULA Face Filter Primer after seeing that it was the bestselling item on the TULA site. Y’all, this primer does not disappoint and it has been the product that single-handedly comes the closest to giving my face an actual filter. The primer is formulated with “glow particles” that blend to create this gorgeous warmth and radiance (see a video demo here!).
If you’re like me and have some redness and/or enlarged pores around the nose area, the TULA Face Filter Primer is also incredible for toning it all down and adding a blurring effect. The product is lightweight and about 1.5 pumps is enough for me to cover my entire face as well as neck. I literally use it in place of foundation for my no-makeup look but it does sit beautifully underneath foundation as well!
Open Up Your Eyes
favorite lashes:
velour ‘you complete me’ (love the velour effortless collection for starters!)
kiss ‘soir’ false lashes
esqido companion eyelash glue
favorite mascara: Too Faced ‘Better Than Sex’
A little over a year ago, I decided to stop getting eyelash extensions as it was becoming too much of a time commitment and I found that they were damaging my natural lashes. I became determined to figure out how to put on false eyelashes on my own (practiced on these “no-trim” effortless ones from Velour and highly recommend!), and thankfully, I’m now at a point where I can put on my false lashes in just a couple minutes — much quicker than applying mascara actually!
During quarantine, I’ve been wearing the Kiss ‘Soir’ lashes and love the subtle flare along with the fact that I don’t need to trim these lashes either before applying! I’ve had luck re-using the Kiss pair for over a month and you can’t beat the $10 price for a 2-pack. For those times when I am taking photos, I usually opt for the Velour ‘You Complete Me’ lashes — the thinner lash strip is much less conspicuous and I personally find that they look a bit more natural on the eye.
If you’re not one for false lashes, my favorite mascara is the Too Faced ‘Better Than Sex’ mascara as my lashes are able to hold their curl, plus the formula is incredibly buildable without clumping!
Highlight & Brighten

I have horrendous dark under eye circles but didn’t really like the thought of putting on a concealer when the rest of my face didn’t have any foundation. Since I had jumped on a kinda of TULA bandwagon, I decided to give their eye balms a try! This Rose Glow & Get It Eye Balm is so incredible at giving instant brightness to my undereye and bonus, it’s literally fail-proof to use! The balm has a cooling sensation and is formulated with caffeine to help specifically with dark circles as well as with rosehip oil to provide vitamin C and protect against free radicals. The subtle pink tone blends in perfectly with skin and the balm itself doesn’t tug on skin either!
Swipe Lip Gloss or Chapstick
I have some pretty chapped lips and I swear by the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask for both morning and evening whenever I’m getting ready. I love the thicker formula of these lip sleeping masks even for daytime and find that they work double-duty as an amazing gloss! I switch between the different flavors just for variety, but favorites include the original (can you tell I”m almost running out, lol? 😆) as well as the vanilla.
Contour For Polish
tarte cream bronzer in seychelles | it cosmetics contour #113 brush
And finally, for those days when I may have a little more time (or am just feeling extra! 😉), I’ll add in some cheek contouring. I find that a little bit of bronzer goes a long way to finishing off my look and making it feel polished. Cream products are the easiest when it comes to blending in, plus I find that it looks the most natural. I picked up the Tarte SEA Breezy Cream Bronzer during the last Sephora sale and it has quickly become one of my top favorites!
The Seychelles color is perfect for contouring and I love how easily it blends without any patchiness. I prefer using an angled contour brush to really target right under the cheekbones and then bring it down to sculpt out my jawline as well.

My go-to makeup look is always a “no makeup, makeup” look. I don’t apply any lashes, though. Good tips!
I love the look, and this is great for a natural makeup style. You are beautiful!
