Boyfriend jeans are like my dressier alternative to sweatpants. They’re so darn comfortable and I don’t have to feel bad leaving the house in them. We had amazingly beautiful weather for the first day of 2014 and it was a wonderful day to be outside. I opted for a few light layers as the wind still picked up every now and then and this buffalo plaid scarf was just calling my name this morning. And while mixing buffalo plaid and leopard print didn’t seem like an obvious choice at first, I actually think it worked in this case!
Meanwhile, I was up bright and early to kick off the new year (thanks to my baby alarm clock who wakes up at 7am 🙂 and it felt good to get a head start on the new year. I took Dylan out for a run after breakfast but after about a mile in, Dylan motioned that he wanted to stop. Next thing I knew we had spent the next 20 minutes playing in a pile of leaves. Seeing his look of sheer happiness just running back and forth reminded me of how I need to pause more in my day to enjoy the simple things. I love rediscovering the world through his little eyes.

That is the best thing about kids. They always make you stop for the important things. I love the plaid and leopard!
Love how you wear the scarf long like that, I will have to try it!
This is a great casual and glam outfit. I'm so sad that scarf is sold out online. *UUUUUUUUUUUUGH*
