I have flare-ish jeans {they’re technically bootcut but look pretty flare to me, so let’s go with it}! I actually bought these jeans almost 5 years ago after another petite friend of mine suggested that I try out Victoria’s Secret jeans as they fit quite small. Sadly when I ordered these they were still big on me but after 2 cycles in the dryer on hot hot heat {they felt like they were burning when I took them out!}, they finally fit! I had put these jeans away in storage years ago when skinny jeans starting coming in style and totally forgot I had them until last weekend when I was doing some closet inventory. I couldn’t have been happier to find these, especially now that non-skinny jeans are making a comeback!
I also picked up this super cute striped blazer from Forever 21 last weekend. I’ve been wanting a striped blazer for quite some time now and at $25, it met my target price point. The sleeves are a cropped style but are still a bit too long on me. I have them cuffed under in these photos, but will definitely be getting them altered to fit shortly.
And as for accessories, I finally got into the whole layered necklaces trend! I love owl-themed jewelry {is it just me or does it give the look a “back-to-school” vibe?}, but since I didn’t wanna look too much like a student, I added a super-glam statement necklace on top just to make it a little more glitzy. Fridays are always reason enough to celebrate, right? 😉

If there is one thing I appreciate about your sense of style since first following your blog, it's your ability to mix things up every now and then. You're perhaps one of the most versatile fashion bloggers out there, let alone one of the most versatile petite bloggers.
Anyhow, I love the flared jeans to go along with the platform sandals. Lovely '70s style there in a great outfit. Nice necklace as well. Casual cool? More like casual hot! 🙂

thanks, John!! you are by far the most sincere commenter I have and I love reading your feedback on my outfits! hope you're enjoying some cooler weather down there too? 🙂
It's great to see you in jeans. I am a fan of flared jeans but I hardly wear them. I really love the color of your blazer. Enjoy your weekend!
I thought you're looking a bit different when you tweeted today in a fitting room, I haven't seen you in flared or boot cut jeans before that's why it's kinda different, I mean it in a good way! Cool chic indeed!
Super cute! Totally loved the blazer, the price was just perfect! Love how you layered the owl pendant with the necklace, so fancy!

haha, yup! you got a sneak peek of my outfit from my fitting room tweet. 😉
Lovely laid-back look, great blazer too!
I really love this look Kileen! You look so wonderful! I have a striped blazer but ordered online and it doesn't quite fit… sad. You look awesome in these jeans! And I wouldn't have thought to put a glam necklace over an owl necklace but it totally works… 🙂 You look great!

Layering jewelry is so much fun 🙂 I'm loving this striped blazer on you, it looks awesome!
Similarly to your comment yesterday, blogging changed my views on fashion and particularly stripes and polka dots. I used to think stripes were just not flattering on me, but with the right width they look great, and I love this blazer, what a deal! Great idea to add glam jewelry vs. the owl! I love F21, if you are willing to look that store has a lot of great quality items and it's worth it to shorten the sleeves on this blazer! Can you imagine what you'd pay for something similar from J.Crew, yup waaaaaaay more than the combo of the jacket + alterations! Enjoy your weekend Kileen 🙂
You are so cute and little!! lol! Love the blazer so much – you have great style!! 🙂

Great casual outfit Kileen! Loving the vintage feel to the pics 🙂
I do like skinnies, especially with boots in the fall and winter. But I've always liked the look of boot cuts and flares, especially on petites. I'm glad others are wearing theirs too!
I love the jacket.

Love the blazer, the fit looks stunning! Got to love Forever 21 for a petite, found a perfect cropped red corduroy blazer there recently myself that works amazingly (looked, but couldn't even find the style online – limited run?). The combo casual/dressy look with the jeans, tee and sparkly necklace is very chic, awesome!
You look amazing, so elegant. I love your blazer.
Haven't visited you in a while, hope you are good, I see your blog is amazing.Tereza
oh yes, i'm hat hit or miss luck with blazers a F21 but i love that they carry them!
An absolutely fantastic look. Great combos.
I usually hate anything with a flare, these jeans look great on you.
wow, what a compliment. thank you!! 🙂
WOW! The blazer looks great on you! Compared to the model, it looks so much longer.
Yay for bootcut jeans! I have so many pairs from the pre-skinny denim days and I'm glad I can bring them back out (post-baby of course!). You look fab as always! Loving the bootcut silhouette and the striped blazer!
oo this post has been greatly informative. I've been wondering what Victoria Secret clothing has been like as shipping is so expensive to Australia I couldn't quite risk it not working out.
AND I've been thinking about patterned blazers and what they would look like on such a small frame – now I know it looks awesome 😉

Wow…….this outfit couldn't have been more perfect!!! You really can;t go wrong with such a smart blazer, a flared pair of denims & clogs! <3
Oo I love this! Very chic, and I love the flare (I prefer flares to skinnies anyway). Even though this is a departure from your norm, I love how you made it your own and infused yr own style. That blazer is pretty awesome, too. 🙂
