Hello! I’m currently on a plane taking advantage of the wi-fi and it feels good to be back! I usually try to have my posts planned ahead for whenever I travel but these past couple of weeks have been crazy busy at my day job (I’m a software engineering manager as my 9-5!). We’ve spent the past week on a Disney trip and while I have so much to share on that front (stay tuned!), for today I wanted to share a spring try-on with all my current JCPenney favorites; as well as review their Styling Room service!
The Dallas area recently had the newest Penney’s concept store open in Hurst, TX and if you haven’t had a chance to visit yet, you are missing out!! You’ll notice that it’s branded as Penney’s (instead of JCPenney’s) as it’s a tribute to how many already conversationally refer to the store. This concept store is markedly different from your traditional JCPenney’s as it’s a whole lifestyle experience, offering fitness classes, personal styling, and even a barbershop! While I first popped into the store at it’s grand opening weekend back in November, I made another trip to try out their Styling Room service to get my wardrobe ready for spring!
I met up with my stylist, Angela, and explained that I needed a variety of different outfits that would take me through work meetings, weekend errands with the kids, as well as even something for the occasional date night. We spent about 15 minutes going through a few racks and before I knew it, we had an armful of outfits! I headed back to the Styling Room as Angela continued pulling shoes, accessories, and even another outfit that caught her eye for me to try!
JCPenney Favorites for Spring
OUTFIT 1: BUSINESS CASUAL
Top: Byer California Floral Blouse (XS / TTS) – (similar, similar)
Bottom: Byer California Drawstring Pants (XS / TTS) – (similar)
Shoes: CL by Laundry ‘Corie’ Wedge Heels (5.5 / TTS)
Hair: Amazon Pearl Clip
This outfit is one of my favorites and definitely an ensemble that’s perfect if you work in a business casual office setting. I love the statement poppy flower print on the blouse and the bright colors make it a great piece to transition into warmer weather. As for the pants, I love that high-waisted paperbag pants are back in style as honestly it’s such a flattering silhouette especially if you have short legs like me! The fabric has a great drape that doesn’t cling and I love the soft pleating around the waistline. The length did run a bit long on me but thankfully that’s an easy hem job that you can even diy!
OUTFIT #2: CASUAL CHIC
Top: a.n.a. Floral Blouse (XS) – comes in 3 colors! (similar)
Bottom: Arizona Cargo Ankle Pant (1 / need size 0) – (also in olive)
Shoes: a.n.a. ‘Dorian’ Wedges (5.5 / TTS)
Hair: Amazon Pearl Clip
Angela encouraged me to try out these pants and the cargo pocket style is a fun twist what I normally wear when it comes to pants! I love the rust color but do need a size smaller than what was available in store. I paired the bottoms with more florals and love the combination of the soft sage green with the pops of orange and white flowers! I finished the outfit with tall wedges and the neutral coloring of this style makes it a versatile option that’s great for spring!
OUTFIT #3: VACATION MODE
Top: St. John’s Bay Flutter Sleeve (S) – (plus option, similar, also love this one!)
Bottom: a.n.a. High-Rise Button Skinny Jeans (2 / need a 0)
Shoes: a.n.a. ‘Dorian’ Wedges (5.5 / TTS)
Hair: Amazon Pearl Clip
This outfit is another find that Angela put together for me and I love the bright colors! The flutter sleeves on this striped top are my favorite, and the fabric like is a lightweight linen that would be perfect also if you’re vacationing to someplace warm! As for the bottoms, everyone needs a pair of white jeans as the weather warms up and the a.n.a. brand is one that is great if you’re wanting something affordable, stylish, and even petite friendly!
OUTFIT #4: GLAM
Romper: Trixxi Scallop Red Romper (XS) – (similar, pants option)
Shoes: Liz Claiborne ‘Nihoa’ Sandals (5.5 / TTS)
Hair: Amazon Pearl Clip
And finally, who can say no when you have a gorgeous red romper with all the scallop trim details! This wrap style is great for showing off those curves as the waist tie cinches everything in. I paired with simple heeled sandals and love the neutral color of this pair!
Also, what I didn’t get a good photo of is the gorgeous Styling Room! Not only is the lighting amazing (so yes, selfies actually look good!), but it’s also so spacious! There are even racks with a few accessories nearby to help you coordinate a complete outfit. I loved meeting Angela and she definitely came through with some amazing suggestions for my spring wardrobe! If you’re in the Dallas area, definitely hop over to the new Penney’s store in Hurst, TX and give the Styling Room a try (did I mention, it’s free!!).
Which of these JCPenney favorites do you like most? Let me know in a comment below!

That red romper is screaming for spring, and I love that nice pop of color in all honesty. Your first one is perfect for business casual and it’s something I’d wear if I was going to be a little bit more dressy. Such cute looks girl! x

JC Penny styling outfits looks very cute and worth buying. I loved that vacation mode outfits and even those glam outfits are perfect for party.
This is such an awesome experiential outlet! They should open more of them in major cities across the U.S. I’ll check out their site, I bet they will be if it goes well. I can’t believe they even offer fitness classes, too! That’s wild. Your stylist Angela has such good taste. Everything looks great on you! Hopefully, you were able to walk away with a few pieces you really loved! Thank you for sharing.
