School is over and summer is officially here! We’ve been laying low and spending lots of time at home to be safe, but it doesn’t mean that we haven’t been having some good times! When we moved from our 3-story condo into this home nearly 4 years ago, one of the big benefits was having a backyard for the kids to play in. We’ve been taking full advantage of it lately and I’m sharing three easy tips to help make some amazing memories in your own backyard this summer! One of which involves Kingsford Charcoal!
Making Awesome Backyard Memories With Kingsford Charcoal!
Get Grilling
There’s nothing better than firing up the grill and cooking up some amazing food on an open flame. Our grill was a gift from a friend, and it’s turned out to be one of the best gifts that has kept on giving year after year. Going back to the days before we even had kids and had zero cooking skills, grilling was always one of the easiest minimal prep meal options that tasted amazing every time!
We’ve always trusted Kingsford Charcoal for our grilling as it consistently lights up instantly and delivers amazing flavor to our food. We pick ours up at Walmart as you cannot beat the one-stop shopping convenience and low, low prices. Right now when you buy at Walmart, you can enter for a chance to Upgrade Your Summer by entering to win a backyard makeover that includes the Ultimate Outdoor Movie Theater. Sweepstakes runs through July 22nd!
Ditch the Electronics
We’re always tied to our phone these days so one thing I’m working on doing more of these days is simply leaving my phone inside the house whenever I’m spending time with the family outdoors. It’s a conscious choice to be more present and connect in real-time with those around me! There’s nothing better than the conversations you have with your loved ones and it’s these moments that I value the most.
Add Games and Activities
With kids you’ll definitely want to have a few activities to keep them busy. But, even with adults, sometimes having something to do can really turn it from an everyday hangout to an awesome get together! Below are a few that we own that you may have seen on my Instagram stories as well as others that I have my eye on:
Have you been enjoying the outdoors lately?

I love summer BBQs! Its been cold here and i can’t wait for it to warm up and start summer grilling!
Yes! I just stocked up on my Kingsford charcoal and have been loving grilling in the backyard.
OMG, grilled corn is one of my favorite things ever!! When they’re cooked over charcoal, it’s even better!
My husband JUST got a grill (passed on from my parents since they’re moving), and we’re so excited to begin experimenting. I’m not sure if it’s charcoal or not (shows how much I pay attention haha) but if it is, I’ll make sure to recommend this brand to him!
I love a good BBQ during the summer! It’s such a fun way to hang with friends and family.
BBQ is a TX stample. I love it. We actually just purchased a new grill during quarantine, we use it weekly.
Doesn’t look like I will be participating in any large bbq gatherings this summer, but I am looking forward to grilling some yummy things to channel all the summer vibes! xoxo, Sarah
Now I wish I had a backyard! Great post ♡

Headed to enter the sweepstake now.
This is so cute. We actually used Kingford with our old grill. We have propane now so we just get it at the local store, but it really does make a difference having an awesome grill!
You are such a deep thinker. I am continually impressed by your ideas and the way you put them out for us to read.
