It’s been looking like a winter wonderland outside as we’ve been blanketed in snow the past few days. It seemed only then appropriate to wear some festive red and pink now that holiday season is in full swing!
It’s hard to imagine, but this coat is actually more than 10 years old. I’ve actually spent more money on having it dry cleaned at this point than what I originally paid for the coat, but it’s definitely been one of those items that keeps on holding up year after year. There’s something about a crisp winter white color that always makes an outfit look bright and fresh. I just can’t help but come back to it again and again.
P.S. In case you missed it:
- Buffalo Plaid + OTK Boots – An outfit for our first snow day of the season!

I definitely have things that are 10 years old+ (I don't even consider myself to be old =/) , not many items, but a few basic tops that have stuck around. Actually, I just uncovered a fur collar that used be fastened to a suede jacket (long gone). I need to add a button to one end to make it usable as a stand-alone piece now. Such a good find!
BTW – your trousers fit really well. I thought they were a Zara pair that magically fit me at 5', though I think these may have been meant as cropped trousers for 'normal-heighted' people.

pants that fit me without alterations are normally meant to be cropped on normal-heighted people actually! these pink pants in this post were hemmed up about 1/2". even though there is a zipper at the bottom, i just unzipped it to the point where i wanted the hem sewn and sewed right over the zipper. it turned out great! 🙂

Really?! well done, lady!
Debating whether a sewing machine would be a good investment for me…
Kileen says
i bought my sewing machine for around $100 at Walmart and it's been really great for basic alterations. i've gotten years of use out of mine and i would say it's worth it!
