Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post!
One of my goals this year is to start saving more. The holidays always loosen up my pocketbook a little more than normal, so I set myself a goal to actually increase my savings this month by 10% — nothing too drastic but it’s definitely getting me to really watch my spending!
For over a year now, I’ve been going to Walmart for my groceries as their prices are just so incredibly low and I love the convenience of being able to pick up everything else I need for around the house as well! To really see how much money I was saving though, I decided to do a side-by-side price comparison of exact items in my Walmart basket compared to those same items at Kroger. It’s eye-opening to see the price difference on each item, with Walmart legit beating out Kroger in every single category, and then seeing how it all adds up at the end!
Can you believe the savings?? Just looking at 5 different items, it’s already a price difference of over $6. Over the course of a year, that adds up to over $300 in savings! I honestly didn’t realize how much more affordable household items like laundry detergent would be at Walmart but you can bet that I’ll be picking Walmart for whenever we need to stock up. Even with fresh fruit, Walmart beats out Kroger by over $1 per pound on grapes — this easily adds up to $3-$4 of savings alone on a bag of grapes!
I’m so glad that Walmart is really coming through when it comes to allowing me to save money, but also time with their Online Pickup and Delivery service. I use the Walmart app every time I place an order and love that it saves my last purchase so that reordering is super fast and easy! I’ll go pick up my order on the way home from picking up the kids at school or just take advantage of the delivery service to have my grocery items dropped off right at my front door. The service is super fast and I’ve never been disappointed in the quality of my items.
Regardless of whether it’s household items like detergent and cleaning supplies to fresh produce like fruit, shopping at Walmart is definitely a win in the price-comparison game!
