We’ve been having so much fun this summer!! Both Dylan and Mei are getting older now (no more afternoon naps!), and we’ve been going on so many different adventures. From our cruise trip to the Bahamas to a “camp-in” staycation at Great Wolf Lodge to just an afternoon pool party turned sleepover with some friends, we’ve definitely been making some great memories these past few months. And luckily, there’s still plenty of summer left. So if you’re thinking about going on a road trip, hopping on a plane, or just camping under the stars in your backyard; I’m sharing the best summer vacation packing list for your next adventure.
Summer Vacation Packing List Essentials
Pack A Comfy Lounge Shirt
Top: Hanes Ultimate X-Temp/FreshIQ tees (M/sized up for oversized fit)
Bottom: Abercrombie High Rise Denim Shorts (24)
Shoes: Vince ‘Blair’ Sneakers (5/size down)
Hat: Lululemon ‘Baller’ Hat
Comfort is key when I’m on vacation and I love having some lounge clothes to switch into at the end of the day. For those hours after dinner when the kids are in bed and it’s wine o’clock for the adults (my favorite time! 😊), an oversized tee and a pair of shorts or supersoft legings is my outfit of choice! I still remember the days when Adrian and I were dating, and I’d always snag his t-shirts to wear and they were seriously the comfiest! I ordered these Hanes Ultimate X-Temp/FreshIQ tees in one size up (medium) and love that I can wear them knotted or off-the-shoulder for a cute off-duty look.
While the tee nails the casual-cool vibe, the fabric is actually far from basic. The X-Temp technology automatically adjusts cooling and moisture control while the Fresh IQ provides advanced odor protection technology. This is a tee that you may get for your guy, but you’ll want an extra one for yourself too!
Always Carry A Torch
Mini Maglite Pro LED Flashlight
use code MAGBB15 for 15% off (valid until 8/15/2019)
Fun Fact: When I got my first car back in high school, one of the first things my dad put in my glove compartment was a Maglite. I later had so many instances when I was so grateful to have that flashlight handy (especially in emergency situations — thank you, Dad!) and to this day, I still keep a Maglite in my glove compartment. The Mini Magite Pro LED flashlight is a super sleek option that fits even in small purses and even comes in a variety of colors to choose from!
Maglite Solitaire LED Flashlight
use code MAGBB15 for 15% off (valid until 8/15/2019)
When it comes to adventures, there’s nothing better than good camping stories shared a la flashlight! The Maglite Solitaire LED flashlight is a great mini size that easily attaches as a keychain and literally doesn’t take up space or weight at all. And while it might be small, it is mighty! 😉 The light shines out to 50 yards and even runs for 2 hours nonstop on a single AAA battery.
I’ve realized that a phone “flashlight” app is definitely not the same as a real flashlight (plus it’s the fastest way to drain a battery!) so I definitely recommend carrying a real light with you wherever you go. Bring up Maglite in conversation and no doubt you’ll notice that it’s a brand that has a cult following — simply put, they are just one of the best-engineered flashlights!
Be Prepared For Accidents
Me4Kidz All-Purpose First Aid Kit
use code babble2019 for 25% off (valid until 12/31/19)
With two little kids, accidents happen when you least expect it. We’re always outdoors taking advantage of the longer summer days. So being prepared for those “just in case” moments is key!
It can be hard to set up a kit that has all the different items you need. Which is why I was especially happy to find this cute pod by Me4Kidz. Mainly because it has 100 essentials such as bandages, ointments, gauze, cold pack, wipes, and literally everything else that’s needed for first-aid care. Plus, the plastic pod is easy to carry along and stash when you’re on the go. And I love how it’s so well compartmentalized; making the items super easy to find!
Say No To Green Hair
on me: Amazon Cupshe swimsuit (sold out, similar, similar)
on Dylan: Target rashguard / swim trunks
on Mei: Target popsicle swimsuit
UltraSwim Chlorine Removal Shampoo
Pooltime is a constant around here in the summertime, and I’m definitely not mad about it! It’s seriously the easiest way for us to all cool off, have fun, and spend time together as a family. Chlorine can do a number on our hair though so I always have a bottle of UltraSwim shampoo on hand. I grew up using this same brand when I was a kid, and I just love how soft and shiny it leaves hair. Even when we’re in the pool multiple consecutive days, I can wash our hair with UltraSwim and the formula is gentle enough that it doesn’t strip our tresses!
Let me know how you are enjoying your summer and if you have any fun adventures coming up!

I didn’t even know this first aid kit existed! I really need this one from my family of 7!
I have to say, I love your review posts such as this for two reasons. 1.) They are so thorough, you can touch on every aspect, 2.) You are honest. I love hearing the good and the bad
