There’s been a Chanel bug going around lately and I’ve been very tempted to succumb to the pressure. Unfortunately, I’ve already spend quite a bit in the past year and have several large upcoming purchases too: bought a condo, furnishing said condo, getting engaged, planning a wedding, and planning a honeymoon.
So even though I’ve been throwing around money in the thousands recently with all the wedding preparations, there isn’t any way I could throw around another couple thousand on a new Chanel purse. Even if they’re on sale (and a very worthwhile investment piece). So I did what a girl’s gotta do when she can’t buy the real thing: find something similar for cheaper.
I saw this bag on YesStyle’s website a week or so ago and fell in love with it. Here are some close-up details:
|Twist closure in the front|
|Two large compartments separated by a zipper pouch|
Here is how this bag compares with the real Chanel Large Flap:
|Size:||11.4″ (W) x 7.9″ (H) x 3.15″ (D)
Strap Length 35.83″
|11.8″ (W) x 7.9″ (H) x 3.9″ (D),|
The main differences from what I can tell (besides missing Chanel logo):
- YesStyle purse doesn’t hold its shape as well as the real Chanel as the side edges are softer.
- YesStyle purse is a dull beige color instead of a softer, more yellow beige color of the real Chanel.
The differences aren’t major but do differentiate the real from the wannabe. If you have the funds, I say go for the Chanel (20% Bloomingdales sale if you open up an account apparently), but if you’re strapped for cash like me, the YesStyle purse is a pretty good substitute!
