I was super careful in my spending this month and tried to keep it to lower-priced items. My goal was to stick to items <$30, but the H&M scalloped wool shorts were my exception. Scallop detailing is my kryptonite and H&M has been luring me in. Although I did add quite a few items to my wardrobe this month, I also fortunately had a good blog sale as well as sold many items on eBay to help compensate. I have more clothes to put up for sale again in October, so stay tuned!
For October, I’m already looking to re-stock my closet with some boots and jackets — items that are perfect for staying warm now that the weather will be cooling down. I absolutely love the fall season, not only for all the layering opportunities, but also because I love seeing as nature changes colors. It’s absolutely inspiring!

You make affordable items look fabulous on you! Very inspiring!

You sad cow, do you really spend all your time thinking about this crap, really? It's pathetic, close your blog down, it's rubbish
I've been anticipating this post! 🙂 You did GOOD! You've been getting a ton or wear from the Express top which was already a bargain. PLUS (our) Forever 21 dress is gorgeous and versatile. I also love the LOFT Wanda dress! Lucky you, scoring it for $8!
I kept track of my spending on a blog draft – I didn't post (yet – debating). I went WAY over my allocated $100. BUT this was my first time giving myself a budget. It really puts my shopping into perspective though! I didn't think I was spending that much, but I am! I think a few months of trial and error (hehe) should help me figure out a realistic amount. I spent $343.69 – but that included a large purchase (~$150 on a pair of cognac boots from Ideeli last Friday). So while a budget is great, I had to splurge at the end of the month on an item that I've wanted for years. (Seriously, years.)
Thanks for the inspiration Kileen! A budget is a great idea! I figure that I am very frugal and spend as little as I can, but if I have a budget, I won't feel so bad about buying pricier pieces as well because I'm still within my allocated budget. I'm going to try shopping this way. It will be QUITE an adjustment for me. 🙂 But will help me feel better about buying pieces that I love and not waiting for a steal.
You did good with your budget, especially considering that it included boots which are always pricier but are an investment purchase in my opinion! i'd say to go ahead and post your budget even if you went over. Either way it's a starting point and hopefully you'll just get better over time. It's a learning process for sure, but having a budget does let you splurge every now and then on pricier items which is always a little treat. 🙂
I’ve read some good stuff here. Definitely price bookmarking for
revisiting. I wonder how a lot effort you set to make
the sort of great informative website.
