I actually kinda struggled with putting together an outfit for today. I knew I wanted something easy, breezy, and light as the high was supposed to get up to 110 today {it actually got up to 115}. I noticed this blue silk cropped button down in the corner of my closet and it felt like just the perfect item for the day. Only problem was, it’s cut to be a cropped top and barely skims my belly button… definitely a look that’s not gonna work for my office! But, maybe it would still be long enough to be tucked into a pencil skirt?
Fortunately with a little pulling and self-frisking {I reached up my own skirt to pull the shirt down a little more!}, it ultimately worked. I stood there beaming like a 10-year old as I felt like I had successfully given this shirt a new workplace look! And if that attempt at professionalism didn’t work, hopefully the pearl necklace that I added will. 🙂

The yellow is so pretty with the top!
You guys are experiencing warmer weather than us…and triple (or more) the humidity!!
I was just in my closet pre-assembling possible work items and had to do the up-the-skirt tuck, as well! :p

The color of this shirt is so pretty on you….love that you chose to pair it with a yellow belt 🙂
I like your outfit, I think blue and yellow are perfect together 🙂
You look lovely. I love the color combination!! You don't even look slightly hot considering it was 115 degrees!!!!
You're adorable! I often reach up my skirt to pull my shirt down and do it multiple times a day (in the privacy of an enclosed bathroom stall of course.) Haha. I love the color of this blouse and the yellow belt with it. FAB!
Great outfit! Very polished and love the colors!

Don't you just love it when you go through your closet and salvage pieces you didn't think 'worked' anymore! Love this outfit and the yellow belt is a great touch! I recently came across a 7+ year old silk blouse from Emmauel Ungarao that I thought was a bit too big for my taste but it worked beautifully with a belt and slacks. Hope you'll show us more closet finds from Kileen's Archives 😉
haha, for sure! and i like the sound of "Kileen's Archives". 🙂
lol, i would never have guessed! such a pretty silk blouse to sit all alone… you definitely did a great job with it!
Ooh you're so resourceful, Kileen! 🙂
And I know how much you like to put your hair in a bun and I know that you have thin hair that's difficult to get lots of volume into it, but I just ran across this tutorial the other day for a perfect bun and wanted to send it to you:

I tried it out and it totally works, except I didn't hairspray mine and my hair started slipping out (it was straight and slick that day) after awhile. You should give it a try!
oh thank you so much!! you're awesome, kimmie. 🙂
Smart move. Cropped shirts can be really hard to style, especially for an office setting.
Yipes on your hot weather! We had our first day (after 17 consecutive days) of NOT being in the 90s and above today. I was ever so thankful. 🙂
I love the combo of the bluish turquoise with the yellow – it really pops!
I love this for a slightly business / slightly casual look; and most of all, I'm in love with this belt. The bright color just sets the outfit off nicely.
