You may have noticed that I don’t wear sunglasses much. Currently I own 1 pair of sunglasses that I keep in my car to use while I’m driving. While that one pair has served its purpose well, I’m now looking to add an additional pair of sunglasses that I can keep in my purse and have with me at all times. Now that I have a busy 14-month old toddler, I’m outside every day either at the park, on a walk, or just hanging out on our driveway watching Dylan play. An extra pair of sunglasses would definitely come in handy during these times!
So as I’ve been looking into getting a new pair of sunglasses (several pairs on Coastal.com caught my eye), I noticed a few eyewear trends that seem to be popular this season. Here’s a quick rundown of what seems to be trending in eyewear right now along with my picks! (image map below is clickable!)
Cat-eye sunglasses have been around for awhile now and I’m glad to see that this trend is still sticking around as it’s one I’ve been anxious to try. I love the retro silhouette and for someone who has a round face like me, this shape actually helps create some angles!
Ray-Bans are quite popular right now and this summer the mirrored lens look was everywhere. For the fall though, it looks like the mirrored lens will be making way to the subtle gradient lens.

Tortoise shell is making a big comeback and just like leopard print, it’s a pattern that goes with everything. It’s a great alternative to the standard black.
This frame shape always reminds me of John Lennon. I just love the old school, vintage vibe. I’m not sure that it would work with my round face, but for those with more angular face shapes, this would definitely flatter!
