One of the things I look forward to the most when cooler weather hits is being able to wear boots! I love the way a stylish pair of boots can totally pull together an outfit and they are a surefire way to say “I’m ready for Fall!” when it comes to getting dressed. Almost every year, I pick up a new pair of boots from my favorite boots brand, Born, and they always end up being one of my most worn shoes for the season! In previous years, I picked up tall knee-high boots from Born (see 2017 here and 2018 here) so this year I decided to switch it up with short ankle booties instead. Read on to see why I love Born boots so much as well as the must-have boots style you need!

High Quality Craftsmanship Is Stitched Into Every Born Shoe
Boots are an investment item for me, so I always make sure that the ones I purchase are well made and built to last. The craftsmanship that goes into Born shoes is unbeatable as they hand-stitch every pair using a traditional Opanka technique that allows the shoe to flex and move with the foot. I can feel the difference when I’m walking as there’s no sign of any stiff leather even when my boots are fresh out of the box!
Comfort Is Key

Can we all agree that after 2020, we’re all appreciating comfort a little more? I know that leggings and joggers have definitely become a new staple in my everyday wardrobe so having comfortable shoes are also a must. Leather shoes can oftentimes need a break-in period, but it’s never been the case with any Born shoes that I own! The shoes are designed with both an arch cushion to provide ergonomic support as well as a dual density foam cushion to reinforce the foot on every step. Plus, if you’ve ever had shoes that give a puffing noise when you walk, Born shoes have even considered this aspect and included an air diffusion layer to distribute air pressure more evenly along the sole and thus reduce that escaping puffed air noise.
I’ve taken my Born boots with me also while travelling (see here for my PNW trip where I wear my Born boots!) and if you’re looking for a pair of shoes that you can literally walk all day in, Born shoes are your best bet.
Let’s Not Forget Style
I picked out the Syd style and could not be more in love with this boot! The soft suede has the perfect amount of distressing that accentuates the natural finish of the leather and I just love the gold buckle details on the side as well. There’s a zipper on the inside that allows for easy on/off and the slight heels gives me just a bit of a height boost that I love!
Versatility is also a big factor when it comes to picking out shoes, and this Syd style is one that can easily be paired with dresses or jeans alike. It doesn’t come up too high on my ankles and the tapered cut is perfect if you’re petite like me and need as much leg length as you can get!
