Ok, so a little non-fashion update from me: Adrian and I took a big step forward in home furnishing today! Even though we moved into our new place at the end of May last year, our condo is still very much under-furnished. I blame the fact that Adrian and I are super picky about decorating our
place. It’s our first real place together and we want to make it just
right!
Something that really bothered me, though, was actually how barren our front door / entryway looked. If you’re walking down the sidewalk of the complex to get to our little unit, you’ll notice that every unit has some sort of decoration outside of their front door. That is, until you get to our place. Not even a doormat. But today, Adrian and I decided we were going to put some plants on either side of the front door. I can’t even keep track of all the furniture stores and the nurseries we visited to finally figure out the exact right floral combination. But now, we have two nice little wax leaf privets (pruned to be in the shape of a ball) each sitting in a black Avalon Square Planter. I’m so overjoyed just looking at it that I can forgive the fact that I have mud now underneath every single one of my fingernails. It’s a small price to pay for front-door beauty. Now, I just gotta find a doormat we both like. 🙂
Now for fashion news: I will admit that I’m in love with this fun skirt. I bought it a couple years ago on a whim when it was on sale at Express for $12. The color was a little shockingly bright for me at the time (not to mention the fact that the pattern kinda reminded me of cow spots), but now I’m over being scurred of bright colors (even neons!) and am totally in love with it. Did I mention that it was like a little ray of sunshine into my busy Sunday and totally brought a spring to my step? Twelve dollars for that kind of happiness? Priceless.
Now to clean the mud off me… 😉

You should wear headbands more often… so feminine and gorgeous on you!! Especially with your new bangs 😀

Oh Kileen, this is one of my favorite outfits you've worn 🙂 The yellow is so bright and it makes me look forward to the daytime. You really have a good eye for interesting skirts 🙂
Good luck w/the furnishing. Today I just rearranged all my furniture at home. Every few months, I try and rearrange to keep things less boring. I hope you pick up some nice bright flowers 🙂
i love this combination!;)

LOVE the print on the skirt….and the super cute headband!! Looking great hunnie!!!
I love yellow on you, and the skirt is awesome. I don't know why decorating always seems like an after thought to me. I'm moving soon, and I'm hoping my boyfriend, and I will decorate the next place.

nice wedges!
Pictures of your entry way please! (Or an outfit picture once you get your doormat) My imagination is shoddy 😀 (Wait, I just realized there might be privacy concerns with pictures of your house floating around the web, so scratch that!)
I so love this outfit on you! I like how it's not what you typically wear, but it's still you — so feminine and girly.
aww..I love this outfit! it's so bright and colourful! Good decision with the skirt!
oh that's a good idea!! i think we need to do this too!
yeah, i thought about taking pictures too but then realized it'd be way too
easy for someone to find me then! but you can kinda imagine it… 🙂
nice skirt
Beautiful Kileen! This outfit is just amazing! The headband looks great on you too. Home decor is so fun! But yes it definitely takes a while!

That skirt is so cute – and the whole look is precious with your headband and pin.
luckily i'm one of those people who runs best on 5-6 hours of sleep. 🙂
YAY for jumping on the neon train! You know I love my outlandish colors! I really like how you decided to mute the neon with a more pastel shade on top.
THIS is how you look on Sundays?
Oh man… I'm ashamed of what I wore, yesterday!
Stunning outfit!!!You look amazing!

lol, yes, i love getting dressed up even on weekends (i should probably say
especially on weekends!). i love wearing more daring things that i think
might be too much for the workplace. 🙂
I am soo loving those wedges and bag!!! Lucky since your a size 5.5 those wedges are cheaper their almost 80 bucks in my size 🙁 lol
oh i purchased these wedges last weekend when Steve Madden was running a 30%
off all new arrivals promotion… otherwise i think it's usually the same
price regardless of size. if only i were that lucky! 🙂
Loving this outfit and great photos, I like the new scenery!!

You are so pretty Kileen! I love the yellow and I'm drooling over your bag <3
oh thank you! 🙂
I also had all kinds of good feelings for your skirt until I read that it was only $12. Then I just got really jealous and pouted for a while and decided I didn't like it after all. Nothing looks as pretty when you're seeing it in GREEN. Just kidding of course…super cute 🙂

You always look so well polished. The yellow looks great on you! And that shot in front of the sun/city scene is gorgeous 🙂
lol, express has some ridiculous deals sometimes and i got lucky with an
associate who let me stack a coupon code as well as a 15% off survey code.
but i also do surveys on e-rewards.com and get Express gift cards that
way… no need to be jealous anymore! 🙂
I really hope you went shopping around the to gardens and such in that outfit. Such a juxtaposition.
Love the bright look! Neons for the win.
Yellow and black look so cute on that skirt, the flower pin was such a cute touch! Good luck on the doormat hunt , think it's wise not to rush into buying things until finding the perfect ones, pretty sure once you are done, your place will be absolutely perfect!

Love the skirt so much, i wish it was mine!
Adorable! I love the bright colour : )
I really love black and yellow together! Sometimes I think it can be tricky to pull off, but you've managed it perfectly!
kileen you are STUNNING in yellow!!!
i love this outfit… such a perfect outfit for spring.. and i love the white headband detail in your hair!
This outfit is so pretty…I love the colors…I have a blouse from Ann Taylor that has similar colors 🙂
I'm so jealous of your neon yellow – I'm trying to add more in my closet.
yay for spring apparel! love your bangs!
Kileen, this will probably sound weird but I love how that neckline looks on you. It is exceptionally flattering, and the whole outfit is just spectacular. You look brilliant, neon or no!
oh thank you! i have a problem with these boatneck tops falling off my
shoulders or exposing the bra strap, but i'm glad you like! 🙂
This is definitely one of my favorite outfits of yours! It's so gossip girl, but older. And the background area you shot at is so darling.
oh thank you! i think the headband makes it gossip girl-ish. 🙂
I love this..the colors look great on you. That skirt is gorgeous and I love the patterns in the skirt. Great color combination.
Love the shoes!

Yay, happiness in a skirt! Funny you were reminded of cow-spots, the pattern makes me think of the outlines of fish in an aquarium 🙂 It's super cute though, and a great outfit! I'm moving into a new apartment this weekend and I'm really excited about decorating… it's one of those things I go nuts for. Too bad I always kill plants! 🙁
omg, i have a bad habit of killing plants too! the mini trees we bought are
already a pretty good size though, so i'm hoping that'll make it easier to
keep them alive. we'll see! 🙂
ooh, this.. THIS, is adorable. 🙂
thank you! 🙂
