This weekend we took Dylan out to the pumpkin patch at the Dallas Arboretum. The weather called for rain but we were lucky enough that the storms held off long enough to do some pumpkin exploration for the little one. Dylan is going through a phase where he loves to sit on everything (it’s absolutely adorable to see him backing up to sit on something!) and so he went around looking for perfect small pumpkin on which he could sit his rump. Even funnier was then the fact that he insisted on pushing the pumpkins that were too big out of the way, grabbing each one with his two little hands and letting out a big ol’ grunt as he would try to lift them up. The pumpkins didn’t make it very far, but that certainly didn’t stop this little man.
Our adventures continued onto the little bridge they had built and Dylan couldn’t get enough of climbing up and down (stairs are his absolute favorite right now). He would squeal in excitement and point his finger to his latest pumpkin discovery below and it was all I could do to just keep up with this little guy. Baby sign language is his thing right now and he would also sign “baby” for every little person crossing our way. And while “baby” is supposed to be just a little cradle rock, he manages to do a full body shake as he does it with such vigor. I tell you, Dylan is really coming into his own right now and every day just keeps getting better. He’s such a joy and I still can’t believe I’m lucky enough to be his momma!
