J. Crew Fall 2013 RTW inspiration (source) |
With Fall Fashion Week just behind us, I wanted to do a look that took inspiration from a fall runway look. J. Crew never fails to disappoint with their clever mix of colors, textures, and fabrics. I was instantly drawn to this oxblood and floral combination as I’m loving both of these trends right now — so why not combine them? 🙂
For my look, I swapped out the floral shirt for a floral scarf but kept it in the same oxblood color family. I added a subtle pop of color with a gold belt and golden tan pumps. The result is a simple but stylish. I love the fact that you can wear this look anywhere — to the office, a lunch date, or even out for errands. Versatility at its best, I tell ya.
And, for those of you looking for a similar oxblood skirt, here are a few picks:

Such a lovely outfit! I like it better than the inspiration 🙂 That scarf is such a lovely print with the burgundy skirt 🙂
Away From The Blue
While I only own J. Crew in thrifted versions, I do love their lookbooks. Always fresh! You have done a great job with the interpretation Kileen!
I agree, I would wear your outfit, but would never wear the J. Crew runway! Yours is SO much better, it is perfect! (The inspiration shorts, crazy shoes, and ugly blouse would never be work-appropriate. Sorry J. Crew, I love you, but that outfit isn't for me!)
thanks Faith! 🙂
The dark burgundy looks really good on you! You've reminded me that I have a sim color skirt that I need to break out for fall.
I know oxblood's not really a hot color any more, but I still really like it. I don't think it'll ever really go out of style for fall. Also, nice color story! Love love the shoes!
The burgundy color of that skirt is so beautiful! Love how you styled it too!
Thanks so much for participating in this month's challenge. I love this color on you. Super gorgeous for Fall. Have a wonderful weekend!
So pretty! You look stunning in oxblood and I love your interpretation of the look.
Love your take on this outfit, the colors are fab and the scarf is very cute. Great job!!
Love the floral in the scarf vs. the model wearing it in the top
