We ventured out to the Dallas Arboretum last weekend to try and catch the last of the tulip blooms and it was a beautiful day to spend running outdoors enjoying the gorgeous spring weather. Although it turned out that the recent rainstorms had blown away much of the tulip blossoms, we still caught our fill of beautiful flowers everywhere we turned. While Adrian and I took turns holding Kennedy (she was a sleepy napper), we spent time chasing Dylan around the open fields and playing his favorite game of “ring around the rosie” (the falling is his favorite part and usually commences in us chasing him!). And finally, we were lucky enough to catch a pony ride on our way out. While petting the ponies still scares him, Dylan couldn’t have been happier riding one around the little circle (to the tune of “see the pony galloping” that he requested I sing, of course. 🙂
I wore this striped dress from a recent LOFT purchase (a full haul review with my other purchases will be coming soon!) as I wanted something black and white to stand out against all the colorful flowers. The fabric has a nice medium-weight and the pockets made it so convenient for stashing keys and a quick set of boogie wipes (#momlife). I also picked up these flats a few weeks ago and just love the edgy studded detail (like Valentino Rockstud flats but so much less!). They were perfect for keeping up with the kiddos while still looking chic.
Hope you’re having a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Oh goodness! This is like my third comment on your blog but it just keeps getting better and better for me as I read!!! I am a Texas mamma of 2 babies, boy and girl as well (around same age too)! I reside in Houston currently and we often take trips to Dallas but I have never been to the arboretum there! My son would love the pony rides! Are the walking paths there stroller friendly?
Hi and thank you so much for taking the time to comment! The pony rides are unfortunately not there everyday but you can check their website for when they are there. The sidewalks at the arboretum are very stroller friendly though and they have big golf carts to take people around too in case you get tired of walking. It's one of our favorite Dallas spots! You have to take your kids to the Rory Meyers Children's area too!
I will! We're always looking for family friendly spots when out of town. That'll give us something else to check out the next time we are in Dallas along with our usual Pecan Lodge and Monkey King Noodle stops. 🙂
Oh yes, Pecan Lodge and Monkey King are my faves too! Jeng Chi also has delicious xiao long bao (soupy pork dumplings) if you like those too!
Oh goodness! Thanks for the suggestion. My husband is a huge xiao long bao fan and foodie. His family is in the restaurant business and he's always on the lookout for good restaurants. If you're ever in Houston, you should check out Tiger Den for good ramen and Aka Sushi if you're a sushi fan. I love sharing good eating places since no matter where you go, you gotta eat. ^_^
Thank you for for recs! Will definitely put those on my list the next time I'm in Houston! Love sharing good places to eat. 🙂
