Hi everyone! How was your weekend? It was a bit of a mixed bag for me as I had my car broken into on Saturday afternoon. Fortunately Dylan wasn’t with me when the break-in happened and only my radar detector was stolen. I was a bit shaken up after the incident but I was glad that I had my family to turn to and help me out. Things like this have a way of making me question people’s intentions; I’ll admit I lay in bed way too long that night thinking in disbelief that someone would actually break into a car in broad daylight to steal a silly radar detector. While I do have the inconvenience of geting my car fixed and dealing with insurance claims, I am glad nothing worse happened. Hopefully this will all be behind me in a couple weeks!
There’s nothing like putting on a fresh outfit to recharge for the day. Temperatures dropped to the chilly 30s today and I definitely had to layer up! I had my eye on a J. Crew vest for some time now and was glad to see that they still had my size when it finally went on sale. I paired the stripes with some bows and wore it over another sweater for extra warmth. Cute, feminine details always have me feeling like myself again!

P.S. In case you missed it:
- Radiant Orchid – Sporting Pantone’s Color of 2014 with some classy tweed.
- Giveaway: Zara Tartan Scarf – Win this comfy blanket scarf that’s sold out everywhere!
Sorry to hear about the break in! Good no-one was hurt though 🙂
I like the layering in this outfit – and that bow top is so cute! 🙂
How awful! I can't ever imagine what would compel a person to do that, you are exactly right, how is something so trivial worth the risk, and how could someone be so selfish to not even think about the repercussions it has on you and everyone around you. I hope this doesn't diminish the sense of safety you have living in your city. I know you go out in town and take photos with your remote and tripod like I do, and I always feel safe doing this in my town, but I can't imagine, what if something happened? What if someone walking by decided to take off with, or do something destructive to my camera? Would I ever feel safe taking my photos alone in public again?
Love the background of these photos, Kileen. Sorry to hear about the incident. It happened to us a few months while we were staying at the apartment. Glad everyone was OK. Have a wonderful Monday!
oh no! i'm sorry to hear that you had something like this happen to you too at your apartment! i just can't believe people would do this kind of thing. i hope you and your family were alright too!
that's what i was thinking too! i was parked on the side of a busy street where there were lots of people walking and even surveillance cameras. the cameras did catch the 2 people who did this on film and police are working to find them. it does make me scared about going out on my own and taking blog photos in case anything were to happen. it even got me thinking that maybe i need to take some self-defense classes…
Oh no! Having your car or home broken into or having something stolen from you is so violating! I hope they catch them! I'm sorry to hear about that!
Sorry to hear about the break-in, Kileen! I'm glad you wouldn't hurt and Dylan wasn't with you when it happened.
Love the bow top…it's so cute! Too bad it's out in my size.
I was able to find my bow top on sale in stores about a week ago! maybe give that a shot if the store isn't too far from where you are. 🙂
So sorry about the car incident! My boyfriend's car was broken into last year and you know what they took? A bag of dirty gym clothes!! Meanwhile, we had to deal with insurance, getting a new window, and getting it tinted to match the other 3 windows!
I've been wanting that J. Crew vest for a while, too. I saw the Crewcuts version on clearance at my local J. Crew and got that instead lol!

I'm so sorry to hear about your car! I can completely understand how you would feel shaken up! On a lighter note, I'm really loving this bow sweater! It looks perfect with your vest. And thanks so much for linking up with Mix It Mondays!
