My activewear drawer has probably doubled in size over the last year as I’ve spent more and more of my everyday in some sort of athleisurewear outfit while working from home. I have to admit that a good pair of butt lifting leggings make such a difference — a good pair can hug you in all the right places without making you fell like a sausage and give you that sleek lifted look so you feel like the best version of yourself!
The Best Butt Lifting Leggings
I’ve been a long-time lover of Spanx for their compression shapewear (I lived in the Higher Power Shorts for literally 2 months after my tummy tuck surgery!) and the Faux Leather Leggings have always been a fall / winter staple for me. But, if I had to pick the one thing from Spanx that I’ve legit been living in the last year and a half, it would be the Spanx activewear line!

Why Spanx Booty Boost Leggings?
The Spanx Booty Boost leggings just went on sale, and during this Fourth of July weekend only, there’s an additional 30% off on existing markdowns. That brings the price down over 50% (!!) so if you’ve needed a sign to try out these leggings, now is it!! These leggings sold out in 48 hours when they first dropped last November and celebs such as Kourtney Kardashian, Reese Witherspoon, and Jennifer Garner have all raved over them. Spanx definitely proved to me with their faux leather leggings that they know how to make leggings that feel and look good, so you can probably now understand why I have 3 pairs of Spanx Booty Boost leggings so that I can keep them in constant rotation!
The Spanx Booty Boost leggings have a really unique U-shaped hemline with no center seam, designed to help avoid camel toe (yes!! 🙌) and the Printed Power smoothing technology has that compression that’s smoothing yet not constricting. I also find the high rise to come to the perfect height to give you that hourglass look and the fabric just feels soooo good once it’s on. It’s breathable, lightweight, and even make me do a double take whenever I walk past a mirror!
Did I mention pockets?? The side pockets are big enough for me to slide in my large iPhone 12 Pro Max and hold them snugly even when I’m on a run yet you can’t even tell that there are pockets when there’s nothing inside. Note that the Booty Boost Every.Where Knockout style that I’m showing here is a full-length legging and do run about 1″ long on me without any alterations, so if you’re petite I do recommend the Booty Boost 7/8 leggings instead (shown below on me in the collage as well!)

First up is the Spanx Booty Boost Active 7/8 legging. These were my very first pair of Spanx leggings and they hold a special place in my heart almost like a first love! These are a slightly thicker, medium weight fabric and it’s made with Spanx’s signature Slim-X performance technology that’s both slimming and smoothing. There is a seam that runs across the lower belly area and I actually find that it provides a bit of added contouring in that area, ideal if that’s area for you that needs more compression! Also, the 7/8 length is ideal if you have short legs (I’m only 5′ tall) and it hits right at full-length for me. Note that this style does not have pockets.
When to wear: This style is my pick for cooler weather and when I’m doing workouts that involve weights as I like the thicker fabric and compression support.

Next up is the Spanx Booty Boost Every.Wear Laser Wave 7/8 Legging. These are a lighter-weight legging with fabric that is a bit more breathable, in my opinion. The waistband is completely free of any seams or contours, but instead has hidden Printed Power technology that targets the tummy. I actually prefer this smooth waistband style as I find that it stays up better — it’s actually specifically designed so that the waistband doesn’t roll! This style is also a 7/8 length with laser cutouts at the calf that provide airflow and are just super flattering. Plus, side pockets!!
When to wear: This style is my favorite for cardio workouts in warmer weather as the fabric is more breathable and the cutout details give that airflow. Plus, the anti-odor technology is key cause I’m always a sweaty mess after I exercise in Texas heat!
