FitFlops – Caffeine for your feet! |

Wearing the FitFlops Pietra in Pewter. |
Fitness is a huge part of my life and I love the endorphin rush that I get from getting a good workout in. Since my college days I’ve always loved running (the Katy Trail is right in my backyard and the 5K is my drug of choice), yoga (I go to the Vinyasa classes at Exhale), and most recently have started doing Crossfit (the high-intensity interval training realy helped me lose the baby weight and tone up). Now that I have my hands full with a busy 15 month old toddler, my workout times are a lot more limited and I’ve had to find ways to fit in fitness into everyday activities as I may not always have time to spend an hour at the gym. This is where FitFlops come in.
I bought my first pair of FitFlops way back in 2008 and later even bought another pair for the wintertime (I previously “confessed” to owning the FitFlop ‘Billow’). You can see why when Sole Provisions asked if I’d like to review a pair of FitFlops, I couldn’t have imagined a better fit for my blog as I was already a die-hard FitFlop wearer. I love slipping on a pair of FitFlops on the weekends when I’m out running from the yoga studio to the grocery store trying to take care of errands. While I love wearing heels on the weekdays, on the weekends I try to give my feet a break and turn to the comfort of FitFlops.
I have slightly flat feet and the thick sole provides far better support and cushioning than your standard flip flop. The best part is that not only are the comfortable, but the built-in, patent-pending “microwobbleboard” also creates a slightly uneven surface that forces more muscle fibers to engage. And while I haven’t taken measurements of my legs to know whether the shoes made an actual difference, I do know that even it it were only for comfort’s sake, I would still wear these shoes. The fitness aspect is just an awesome bonus. 🙂
For those of you looking to try out FitFlops, note that a few of their styles do run big. My first FitFlop purchase was the FitFlop Walkstar and I found that the large footbed was too big for my size 5 feet. If you have petite feet like I do, I would recommend styles that run slimmer like the Pietra, Florent, Lunetta, Flare, Fleur, and Hanabira.
Sole Provisions actually has many of the FitFlop styles on sale right now! Check it out if you or someone you know want to add some toning shoes to your collection.
