SeabuckWonders Skincare // The Secret Behind Sea Buckthorn

I’ve noticed that sometimes I need to switch up my skincare to continue to see results.  I usually prefer products that are derived from nature and are free of parabens / chemicals and I had noticed this SeabuckWonders line when I was browsing through Sprouts for groceries the other day.  After coming home and doing a bit of research, I learned that SeabuckWonders bases its products off Sea Buckthorn.

What Is Sea Buckthorn?
Sea Buckthorn has historically been used to heal skin injuries, burns, wounds, eczema, and sun-damaged skin.  (source)  The two common varieties of Sea Buckthorn oil are berry oil and seed oil.  While both offer benefits for the skin, only the berry oil offers the rare omega-7 — the one nutrient that is believed to  contribute the most to improving skin.  As it turns out, SeabuckWonders products have the highest levels of omega-7 on the market!  Even better, all products are vegan, paraben-free, cruelty-free, dairy-free, white-free, and gluten-free!

I tried out two products from the line:  the Exfoliating Facial Cleanser and the Deep Hydrating Serum.  For the past 3 weeks, I’ve been using these products in my daily skincare routine.  Read on for my review!

Sea Buckthorn Exfoliating Facial Cleanser (4 fl. oz / $16.97):

Prior to purchasing this cleanser, I was using my Clarisonic with the delicate brush head once a day to clean my face before bed.  My facialist (Andrea at Lush Beauty – love her!) mentioned that it seemed like that was too much for my skin as it was irritated, and that I should consider alternating the Clarisonic with a mild exfoliating cleanser instead.  The Sea Buckthorn Exfoliating Cleanser is super gentle and I love the tiny little beads that are infused in it (can you see them in the pic above?).  There is a refreshing orange scent (from the essential orange oil ingredient) and my skin actually feels invigorated!

Sea Buckthorn Deep Hydrating Serum (1 fl. oz / $34.97)

I was most looking forward to trying out this serum as I needed something that would help brighten up my skin.  This serum is lightweight and doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily or greasy at all.  I have noticed, in the mornings especially, that my skin seems softer and more even-toned.  I typically have a bit of redness around my nose area and it’s definitely less noticeable these days!

I’ve been really impressed with SeabuckWonders so far and will have to expand to try out the other products in the line!  I love the fact that I can pick these up while I’m grocery shopping (available in stores nationwide) and the prices are affordably within reason, especially considering that it’s all-natural and I’m seeing such great results!
