^^ This week was a busy one as Dylan and I kept ourselves busy with different activities every day of the week. Dylan is crazy about all kinds of vehicles these days, whether it’s cars, motorcycles, trucks, or airplanes. We had a little family photo shoot last weekend (which is why Dylan is all dressed up — more pictures to come soon!) and passed a parked motorcycle on our way home from dinner. Dylan begged to sit on it and he was a natural on the bike, sound effects and all!
^^ We started off this week with a trip to the craft store as I wanted to pick up a few supplies to try and DIY a bead lacing activity for him. Unfortunately the project was a fail as the beads were too small for him to handle and I ended up buying the wrong kind of string. Ultimately I ended up just buying this set off Amazon that contained large beads and Dylan has been playing with it since (although he needs help adjusting his hands with the beads sometimes now). While in the store though, Dylan noticed a rack of Styrofoam hats and wanted to put every one of them on (despite not looking super excited in the picture above). This pirate hat was the most hilarious!

^^ Dylan has never really been one to get attached to stuffed animals or “lovies” but lately he’s been playing with this Clump-O-Lump Tig-O Tiger quite a bit. He’s so loving towards it and I love how he will give it kisses completely out of the blue! He also loves comparing their body parts — pointing out something on Tiger and then pointing back to his own. I did try putting Tiger in the crib with him once only to have Dylan insist on getting out of the crib to then put Tiger to sleep on our bed! The crazy things this kid comes up with sometimes!
^^ Building on Dylan’s obsession with the alphabet right now, I picked up these See-The-Sound Alphabet Stamps and some Play-Doh as a more tactile activity for him to enjoy as well as to learn additional words to associate with certain letters. This series of pictures is probably one of my favorites as you can see the excitement in his face as he stamps each letter and sees the imprint on the Play-Doh. We probably stamp for a good 30 minutes every time and it’s definitely one of my favorite activities to do with Dylan right now!
^^ And last but not least for toys, I picked up a sorting activity for Dylan so that we could work on shapes and colors. It’s also been interesting to see how easily he can stack all the different pieces on the board but somehow gets stuck with the triangle. It’s been something we’ve been working on since!

^^ My mother-in-law bought this scoot tricycle for Dylan last Thanksgiving and it was a bit beyond his level at the time. This week we stopped by a toy store and Dylan fell in love with the little tricycles on display. I figured it was time for us to give his tricycle another try and while he still struggles with the pedaling part, he’s a pro at the scooting!

^^ And finally we closed out the week with our first trip to the splash park this year! Dylan splashed and played and completely wore himself out. We came home for lunch and Dylan knocked out for 3.5 hours during his afternoon nap. 3.5 HOURS!
